Legacy testing on MTGO?

[pnutbutr]

Is there a decent way to test on MTGO without entering a 2-man, 8-man, or Daily? I'm really new at legacy and I'd rather not burn a million tickets just figuring out how my deck works. Is the "Tournament Practice" room actually filled with serious players?

The tournament pratice room is so-so, but you get serious decks more often than not. It's certainly way better than Cockatrice. Since it's free, just jump in and give it a try.

You can also ask Sourcers (some of the account names are in the sig below, although it isn't the most up-to-date one), friend them and right click on their profile to challenge them.

I've had a generally positive experience with tournament practice. I'd say maybe 85+% of the people you'd encounter are playing real decks, and you might get a bit more of the burn or budget players though. Once in a while you'll encounter someone playing some pile that perplexes you, but it's kinda fun. I'd offer to test with you, but I only play storm. I generally wouldn't recommend the 2-mans, they're terrible value, 8-mans aren't stellar either, but they're good if you missed a daily and want to grab QPs or w/e
