Hey fellow Sourcers,

when writing another article I used the list posted below as an example and classified it as Supreme Blue. But then one of my proof-readers pointed out that it was in fact called Base Eruption, who lead me to ask a few more old-schoolers which couldn't really agree either. So please help me, how is ths deck from Gabriel Nassif 2009 called?

Supreme Blue was a Bant colored CB deck with a small splash for Red in Firespout. I'm not sure how the deck got its name. It was popularized by CFB- I think-.

Baseruption is an old CB Legacy deck playing Bant colors with black for Bob and discard, removal, and some other creatures. I think it was named after the team who invented it. Some Germans IIRC.

It was already answered above, but I wanted to confirm that this was my understanding:

Baseruption: 4-color Counterbalance deck (UBgw) with Dark Confidants, Tarmogoyfs, and removal, as played by Gabriel Nassif at GP Chicago
Supreme Blue: 3-color UGr Counterbalance deck popularized by the Japanese (?), with Firespouts and possibly Vedalken Shackles as creature control

I think you're right. And that later CFB adopted it.
