I'm having a hard time deciding between The Tabernacle and Moat. I always wanted one of these and like what they do and I'd like to build some legacy and EDH decks around these cards. I already own all the duals and other cards back from when I started a long time ago.
Which would you get and which of the two is used in more decks?
I was also thinking Mana Drain would be fun in EDH but could not use it in legacy though.

In terms of cost, Mana Drain isn't really comparable to Tabernacle or Moat.
Which one will you play more? I'd say that Moat is more playable in existing decks. However, most of those decks opt for other options. Tabernacle is all but required for a few decks and most of those happen to be really fun and interesting, so I'd go with Tabernacle.

As much as I like White Stax, my vote goes to Tabernacle.

Very easily Tabernacle. The decks it is in NEED it, while Moat is on the want list for a few decks, often as a replaceable sideboard card. (ignoring rogue decks). Additionally, one Tabernacle is often enough to "complete" the deck, while you sometimes want more Moats.

I would agree that having one Tabernacle in one's Legacy collection is more significant than having one Moat.

Go for Moat. I love the card and you will too the first time you slam it against Merfolk.

Humility is a better card than Moat since Humility deals with utility creatures. Also, Delver of Secrets just ignores Moat. Take Tabernacle. This card is more powerful because it's super unforgiving.

Tabernacle. You'll pretty much only ever need one (exceptions to this are very rare) and, as has been mentioned up-thread, it is absolutely, non-negotiable and necessary for the few decks that do play it. I love Moat but one Moat is much less useful than one Tabernacle (Moat is more entertaining in multiples IMO).
I love these cards too, so I took both :D
But I think you will have more fun with Tabernacle. You can use it in hunderts of creations of Loam Decks. If you like Life From the Loam, then take the Tabernacle.
But if you like Enchantress or similar control decks more, take Moat.
