Hey folks,
I have to admit: I probably underestimated Dig Through Time.
Understanding that delving for 4 and thus cast it for 2UU already offers a decent ROI. Being able to slam it on the table for 1UU or even UU is just the icing on the cake.
I'd like to keep this thread open to all kinds of suggestions / lists, though coming from Miracles, I'll kick it off with a UW build - crits welcome!
C/A:
4 Jace (+ wincon)
3 Dig Through Time (3 appears to be the perfect number atm)
Counter Suite:
4 FoW
3 Spell Snare (might seem overkill at first sight - maybe it is, maybe not, only time will tell)
2 CS
Removal:
4 STP
3 Supreme Verdict (also C/A - 2 in creature-light metas)
2 Council’s Judgement
Cantrips:
4 Ponder
4 BS
2 Thought Scour (enables DTT#2+3, works nicely with BS & Jace)
(35)
Land:
11 Fetches
4 Island
2 Plains
4 Tundra
(22)
IMO, this leaves one flex slot and 2 dedicated wincon slots.
For the latter, I considered:
EtA, TNN, Elspeth, Batterskull, Clique, - I could definitely need some inspiration here --> your turn!
SB:
1 Relic of Progenitus
2 Rest im Peace (the games you want it DTT is not needed - think: Dredge, Reanimator)
4 Flusterstorm
3 Vendilion Clique
2 Engineered Explosives
(12)
3 flex slots (life gain, Creature/Control hate) - thoughts?

Thanks for your feedback!

Nice.
Guess that you mean Thought Scour in the Mental Note slot, right?
Interesting deck. Dont know if Dtt is worth losing SDT, but you are the one testing it. Sort of weird seeing a miracleless miracle build. It does look underpowered at first sight.
Imo, for you to really control the game up until Jace can finish it, it seems like tje deck is lacking a lock piece, like Moat or Humility or something.
Anyway, i also think dtt has a lot of potential.

Thanks. Swapped out Mental Notes for Thought Scours (oldschooler here..).
I agree: not sure if trading CB-Top for DTT is worthwhile after all.

I still believe that this card will find a home in a Show and Tell-based deck such as OmniTell.
I don't understand how anyone could have underestimated this card. It looks good at first glance and at second and at....

I tend to think that solidarity could do pretty well with dig through time.

Some random, unorganized thoughts:
I think a 1-2 of Vedalken Shackles could be very good with Dig Through Time, as it doubles as a win-condition as well as creature control and with dig you have a good chance of seeing it just when you want it. I think it's important to diversify win-cons a bit and adding in an artifact to the mix seems good.
I think the curve of the deck you posted looks horribly slow and awkward to play. 2 3cc spells, 9 4cc spells, 2 5cc spells, on top of EE and the three Dig through times that you probably can't play before turn 4 or 5 most of the time anyway.
I think your list is overkill on Jaces and Keranos. You really only need to see one, and Dig can help find you one easily if you need it. I would cut this number down for some easier to cast cards.
Misdirection feels like a very good card with dig through time, but it might be overkill. I just like the ability to dig into free "counterspells." I'd at least test it a little bit.
Along that line I'd increase the actual counterspell numbers. Again, I think being able to Dig into counterspells feels very powerful.
I really like spell snare in this type of list. I had the same idea to use it with Dig.
Your list seems to have a really tough time dealing with opposing walkers. I think this is something to definitely keep in mind. Counterspells or useful creatures might help with this.
Entreat as a 1-of seems good to me in white based control, even without top. I would try it out as a win-condition. Dig can help you find brainstorm if you draw it at in inopportune time.
Did you consider dig through time in a combo/control shell? The look at seven just looks so powerful for that style of deck. Perhaps putting thopter/sword or stage/depths together to just win the game from nowhere, but I haven't really found a combo (or list using one) which "I'm in love with" so to speak. Stage/depths is probably the most interesting to me because it seems the least intrusive to the deck. One can also can run 1 dark depths + expedition maps to increase consistency of finding dark depths with less worrying of drawing dead copies of it.
Did you try using dig through time in a Landstill type shell at all? Dig Through Time feels like a really nice attrition type card and would be highly interesting to me in a deck a little bit more about 1-for-1s and then jumping way ahead with stuff like dig through time and standstill (which play pretty nicely together I think) as opposed to the higher CC bombs. I threw a quick list together below just to give an idea of the type of concept I'm talking about. I chose UB mostly for tar pits to have additional ways to work with standstill, though I'm not certain what the best color combination would be for this style of list.
// Lands (21)
4 [AQ] Mishra's Factory (2)
4 [ON] Polluted Delta
2 [A] Underground Sea
4 [ON] Flooded Strand

2 [WWK] Creeping Tar Pit
1 [JGC] Maze of Ith
// Spells
2 [V13] Jace, the Mind Sculptor
4 [BRB] Counterspell
4 [AL] Force of Will
3 [MMA] Spell Snare
2 [FD] Vedalken Shackles
4 [FNM] Brainstorm
3 Dig Through Time
4 [OD] Standstill

list
I like this list a lot.
Being able to cast a whole bunch of Counterspells is nice. I would change Misdirection into Commandeer, because that means you can steal a Jace, draw from opponent's Treasure Cruises, Steal a Grindstone against Imperial Painter, grab a Meditate against solidarity, or steal Entreat the Angels. Especially, when someone is breaking your landstill in order to resolve a spell like that, there is a good chance you will draw into DTT, Brainstorm or Commandeer which will allow you to dig further and steal the threat he's trying to resolve.

--> With all those Abrupt Decays running around, I don't want to rely on artifcats ever. I used to love Shackles though!

--> Fair point. Keranos is a 2 of, since he's my only real finisher. Think of him as Entreats, that are pitchable to FoW and don't die to my Supreme Verdicts.

--> Yeah, when going for super C/A like this deck does, Misdirection can be cool.
Your list seems to have a really tough time dealing with opposing walkers. I think this is something to definitely keep in mind. Counterspells or useful creatures might help with this.
--> Keranos >> opposing PWs :-) also there's Pyros for opposing Jaces and Council's Judgement

--> Considered it, though w/o Top Keranos >> EtA imo

--> imo :w: >> :b: since STP & Supreme Verdict (despite +1 CMC) >> Deluge & Innocent Blood.
Standstil and DTT do actually not seem to mix well, in fact they seem to battle for the same slot. I've been rocking Landstill since the beginning, but with even more powerful CMC1 creatures & Flash creatures around it has rightfully fallen out of favor.

Some ideas:
Gitaxian Probe
Meddling Mage
Moat
Man-O' War
Sacred Mesa
Runed Halo
I dunno, just pictured some sorta can-trippy U/W stall deck that wins with the horsey. Just make it really annoying for opponent to accomplish any sort of offense then win.
