60 Main
1 Emrakul, the Aeons Torn
2 Shelldock Isle
3 Doomsday
4 Dark Ritual
4 Cabal Ritual
4 Burning Wish
4 Lotus Petal
1 Island
1 Swamp
4 Badlands
1 Mountain
1 Underground Sea
4 Polluted Delta
4 Bloodstained Mire
4 Manamorphose
4 Gitaxian Probe
2 Cabal Therapy
4 Thoughtseize
4 Mox Diamond
4 Brainstorm

1 Side
1 Doomsday

General Strategy is to get the go-ahead via targeted discard and Gitaxian Probe, use fast mana to ramp up into Doomsday, making sure to have Shelldock Isle on top and Emrakul somewhere in the 5 and a blue mana source in hand or in play. Then, play Shelldock Isle, hiding Emrakul away. Finally cast Emrakul via Shelldock Isle, take an extra turn, and swing for 15 flying annihilator 6 (which, by the turn 3 or 4 that this usually happens, is really good to devastate a board).

Problems I can see: Wasteland and Karakas are immune to everything concerning targeted discard but Encroach and really put a dent in the Shelldock+Emrakul plan. Potential for main or sideboard Pithing Needle for that. Could also be useful against CounterTop by shutting down Top.

Given the age of all three keystone cards, though, I have a feeling someone already came up with a better shell for this.

EDIT: Idea is not originally mine: played against a player on cockatrice who was using it as a back up to Oops! All Spells! game 2 and game 3

Well what you are suggesting is a sideboard plan for doomsday. It's a pass the turn pile.

There's a similar deck somewhere that wins with Laboratory Maniac with a backup option of Shared Fate. I can't remember the name, and a cursory search didn't turn up anything.

This deck reminds me of Rev6:14.dec

I don't know that this deserves it's own thread. It is a well-known (to Doomsday players at least) post-s/b strategy. Lab Maniac is another option often played in the main.

There was an old SCG article about it around the time of Rev 6:14:

I think that you could make a Doomsday deck where Emrakul is the gameplan instead of a sideboard strategy. Without thinking too hard about it, I couldn't tell you what you lose/gain from playing this instead of other Doomsday variants though.

First off, play Sensei's Divining Top. Every Doomsday deck plays this card because you can't win on the same turn you cast Doomsday without a way to draw into your deck. Speaking of winning on the same turn, you should probably play Cloud of Faeries or something else that untaps Shelldock Isle so you actually have a chance of winning on the same turn; always being forced to pass the turn would make a Emrakul based Plan A into an objectively inferior one. This is because giving your opponent an extra turn to draw a card that breaks up your combo or an extra turn to send in creatures to kill you is a bad thing. And since we're talking about disruption...I think you're playing too much fast mana because Doomsday's drawback is very real and I don't think it would be effective to make your main plan to cast Doomsday ASAP against unknown opponents since you have no way to recover if they have anything to disrupt you with. Emrakul makes it so that counters aren't effective, but the way you have the deck right now you just die to Wasteland, Pithing Needle, and Karakas--all answers that *any* deck could play. You should definitely play maindeck answers since Doomsday tutors them up for you. I've seen maindeck Pithing Needle and Chain of Vapor, with cards like Wipe Away or Trickbind if you want to be truly immune to counterspells.

The original thread that started it all. There were a lot of desc ideas kicked around, maybe check out. I know my first thought was to make a more dedicated U/B shelldock combo like you said with more combo protection. Burning wish seems sort of odd, but you can give it a go I guess.

Er ... my ignorance shames me :(

Is there a way I can get a mod to merge this thread with the current Doomsday thread?
