I've been noodling around with this today. It's not great, but it can be explosive, and I was wondering what direction it could go.

4 Monastery Swiftspear
4 Young Pyromancer
3 Death's Shadow
2 Tombstalker

4 Lotus Petal

4 Cabal Therapy
4 Night's Whisper
4 Thoughtseize
4 Lightning Bolt
3 Gitaxian Probe
2 Innocent Blood
2 Tyrant's Choice
2 Terminate

4 Bloodstained Mire
4 Marsh Flats
3 Badlands
2 Mountain
2 Scalding Tarn
2 Swamp
1 Blood Crypt

3 Pithing Needle
2 Red Elemental Blast
2 Smelt
2 Gloom
3 Surgical Extraction
3 Tormod's Crypt

I've been working on iterations of this deck since Young Pyromancer came out, and had been depending on the synergy between Goblin Guide and Cabal Therapy to keep the coast clear. But Swiftspear is so much better than Guide. It makes Probe better, and it triggers off Lotus Petal, allowing me to skimp on land and have some all-in turns. It doesn't keep my opponent from topdecking land, either. A lot of hand-peeking and disruption means I often have perfect information to craft my turns. And even though I'm eating my own hand a lot, peeling a Death's Shadow or Tombstalker means I can turn games around in a hurry.

The slots I'm not sure about are the 2-ofs in the spell slot: Innocent Blood, Tyrant's Choice, Terminate. Innocent Blood is great when I have a YP or nothing out, but really bad other times. However it's a cheap way to get a TNN off the table. Terminate is nice, but doesn't help with TNN or Mongoose. Tyrant's Choice actually seems pretty good; it triggers everything and forces some tough decisions when I'm ahead. However, kind of cruddy when I'm behind.

Some cards I'm curious about:

Fire Covenant
Rouse
Dark Triumph
Haze of Rage

I love Swiftspear, really fun to brew with.

Why not just play Kiln Fiend?

Mana cost - I'd play Nivmagus Elemental over Kiln Fiend for a hyper-aggressive build. I'd also consider changing one of the removal spells for Murderous Cut.

This, exactly. Haste is also relevant, especially if they are tapped out and you know their hand.

I have had a little trouble getting the last couple points of damage through. I'm actually considering Fling or Reckless Abandon.

I like Murderous Cut a lot, but I think Tombstalker is more important, and they compete for the fetches and petals. What do you think about Dismember? My only fear is 5/6 or bigger Goyfs, since I am playing Petal and most Goyf decks are also playing Liliana (a card I definitely want to hit with discard). I can also "tune" Dismember to help with Death's Shadow.

Swiftspear attacks turn 1, Kiln Fiend attacks turn 3 if it does not get countered.

Empty the Pits seems so much better than Tombstalker.

BBBB is asking a lot, even if I add Urborg.

There might be a deck out there that uses Dark Ritual and Hatred and could use ETP. I don't know if it plays Swiftspear. Opening on land, swiftspear, probe, lotus petal, ritual, ritual, hatred would be sick though.

Fire Covenant is a proven card that can 2+ for 1 your opponent. It can clear the red zone and the life loss can pump your shadow.

Without question, shattering spree > smelt. Chalice at 1 is bad times with smelt.

I'd consider playing Rakdos Charm over Spree in the main. It instagibs Elves! and does some damage against everything not named S&S.

I'm a big believer in Rakdos Charm, I use it in Dega (BRW) as a great catch-all. An F'U to storm when they empty the warrens, or elves farts out 10+ dudes, hits artifacts, and clears gy. Full of win.

I love Rakdos Charm, it's a little awkward with Young Pyromancer though if you're trying to use it to beat Elves. But since that rarely comes up, yeah. Actually, Fire Covenant seems pretty disgusting against Elves. Yes I have a response to your Natural Order...

Maybe new board of:

3 REB
3 Surgical Extraction
2 Rakdos Charm
2 Tormod's Crypt
2 Gloom
2 Fire Covenant
1 Shattering Spree
