View Full Version : Where art thou Nihil Credo?
It has been quite some time since the DTB section has been recalculated. It is awfully untidy to have such old info. Can we get hold of Nihil to remind him?

If you read his last post, august/September was getting rolled into one post, so he's not more than a few days later than usual for the September report. I wouldn't worry about it until sometime next week. Real life, vacations, not many legacy tournaments, etc. Anyway, many of us want the info to be as current as possible prior to GP New Jersey since it's probably slated to be the biggest legacy event in the states this year.

I know you want D&T to be back in the DTB section so hard :)

GP New Jersey is guesstimated to be the largest Legacy event in the US ever from judge rumors.

Yeah, it is. I unfortunately wasn't accepted to judge for it =( Understandable as I'm not L2 yet, but I was really hoping.

Yeah, sorry guys, work was squarely to blame here thanks to some hilarious deadlines leading to a 70-ish hour week.
(On the plus side, I joined the highly elite club of software developers who have had to say "Oh, don't worry, this isn't my blood" as a direct result of their work.)
Gonna get that DTB update going now.

You're doing a great job by the way :)

Gross. And I'm not talking about the blood.
Anyway, I really don't think we've seen enough data since the ban. At least we get an Open this weekend, so maybe next week we'll have a better picture of the meta.
Data, schmata. It has been two months. And the one from August was itself delayed. Nothing against Nihil, but he is apparently not able to do anything for this site nowadays. We need a new active mod to update the DtB. This site used to be the center of Legacy tech and updated info. There is not a reason it should not be that way anymore.

I have already done the update, sent the numbers to Zilla on Friday.

Burn
BUG Delver
Oct (Last Month): Total 1489, cutoff of 68 points
Miracles
ANT
Elves
DnT
BUG Delver
Grixis Pyro
Aggro Loam
Ps:
Love Excel. Doing my math for me since grade 9.

most of this is just directly ported from tcdecks.net. its been a while since I've looked at the DTB section because its not too important but maybe you guys should just visit tcdecks.net if u can't wait...
http://www.tcdecks.net/metagame.php?format=Legacy
Apple, I just want the site to remain relevant. It is unsightly for us not to have an updated DtB section.
And it's not the same method anyway. I think TCdecks does not account for tournament size or some such. The explanation is in the DtB forum.
Can we just make Dice Box a mod and be done with it?

I agree, the site should remain relevant.
On a side note, the calculated results are not materially different from what tcdecks publishes. More specifically, any decision based on the info are unlikely to change based on whether u use the calculated data or tcdecks. Additionally, the data is just there to give you a ballpark since there is a degree of error.

Thanks for your work. I think you should only look at results ever since the ban since it significantly changed the meta.

Well if you where to post a DTB right now, you would go by the Oct numbers anyway and that's the live Meta. The switch happened Oct 2nd so it's intact.
I am happy to keep doing the numbers. It's not a hard task for me to do. All I need to a mod who can update the forum.

OK. My math was off and I have been directed to a way to get it right. The numbers are updated and sent to the people who need it. But to update everyone else, here is the line up:
1955 Points, 90 Point Cut off. 7 in DTB:
Grixis Pyromancer, Miracle Control, OmniTell, Blade Control, Ad Nauseam Tendrils, Burn, Team America.
That's the line up for the month.
Edit.
Ok looking back. My first update should have been August and Sep, not Oct. I have confused myself. The numbers are the same. Nothing new to see here. My bad.

Is team america inclusive of shardless bug?

No. Shardless is listed as "BUG Control" and has a point placement of 70 for the last posted month. It's definitely in the DTB this coming month though.

Does Grixis Pyromancer encompass both Tempo and Control variants?
You know, Shardless is just BUG Delver without the Delvers and with Shardless Agent + Ancestral Vision combo instead.
I like to think of the two decks as fitting into one category - "BUG Goyf".

You also lose Daze and other cheap soft counters, and the option for Stifle. It's more than that.

OK all. I have just finished writing up the months update and have PM'ed it to the mod in question. It should be up in the next 12 or so hours. If I am going to do this as a matter of course now, the next update will be on the 15th-18th and I would try and make that my habit.

Also less Wastelands so they get used more as an out than a pressure tool, etc.
It's a lot like ANT v. TES - the amount of cards changed may not be huge, but they alter the stances the deck wants to take a lot.

Haha, you can't be serious?
EDIT: To keep on topic, it seems slightly weird to have Shardless not in the DTB when it clearly is.Guess we have to wait another month before DTT truly goes.

If Nihil is not back before then, I will be doing that update on the 15th. The update can not be completed until all the data is compiled.
