It just some official support from Wizards, which is cool. The only real "bonus" is that stores can get FNM cards to give out to winners of these Friday tournaments. (Which is largely irrelevant for the Legacy people.)

Now they get extra promos to go with their store credit.

Vintage is also a supported FNM format. The chart OP posted was apparently not exhaustive. Helene confirmed on Twitter.

He is grumpy, however any of our local Atlanta stores would fire anything given 8 people if they can make $5 a head. The shitty foil and planeswalker points aren't going to put it over the top. You need a store to push it and over the last 3 years local attendance at our most popular legacy (Wednesday night) has fallen from roughly

~30 - 3 years ago
~20 - 2 years
~10-12 - 1 year
~can't get - 8 now

despite hundreds of local players owning legacy cards ... Maybe a night change to a non work night will get a mostly older employed Legacy player base interested but I'd be shocked if any local store decided to push it over Standard or Wind Drake / Grey Ogre Pack War.

I've had stores in that past with a rotational FNM schedule, I highly doubt that would include Legacy in the Atlanta area unfortunately. Modern seems more likely given the attendance our stores get for that.

Maybe it is just our area, but like nedleeds said, most experienced players in our area have legacy but choose not to play and we had three separate nights possible and only one place could get more than 12. Plus legacy is a depressing shit fest right now. I hate to say it, but the blue delve shit has basically made it into, play blue or elves or lose.
