Hello!

I've been doing a bit of research this past week and I think I'm ready to make the move to Legacy. I have been playing magic casually for about a year now and stuck mostly with Standard and a bit of drafting but I really like some of the decks I've been seeing in Legacy and I like the stability of the format. I'm not sure if it's really common for new-ish players to get into Legacy but I figured why not. A lot of resources online basically repeated the same thing about the best way to get started in the format: sleeve up some proxies and play them a ton. The issue is that I'm not a big fan of playing at my LGS (it's pretty far and I don't really want to commute for an hour after work or university to get there and an hour to come back) and none of my friends play much Magic (I can get my girlfriend to play with me once a month but she's not that into it). My goal is to really improve my play during my second year of playing and hopefully start participating in events at some point.

I was thinking of building my first Legacy deck on MTGO and grind as much as possible with it, not only to really master the deck but also as a way to learn the format. Before I spend money on a deck though I would like to try a bunch of different matchups so I can see what I like. I was wondering if anybody felt like playing some games with me on an "alternative" program (Cockatrice, XMage or something else)? I should mention that I'm a complete beginner to Legacy so it would probably be annoying to play with me for experienced players, but I'll gladly play with anybody!

I'm on MTGO as TuringMTG (although I don't really have much cards for Legacy on there) or can go on XMage's public server or Woogerworks and Skype.

Thanks! and sorry if this isn't the right forum for this, but it looks all right!
