Insectile Aberration: Is it blue?

Maybe a stupid thought, but it seems to me that if transformed cards (Delver in particular) are independent from their flipside, and an Engineered Explosives set at 0 takes care of one on the battlefield, along with not specifically stating on the card that it is in fact a blue card, please explain to me why a REB can send one packing. I looked up rulings, but so far I'm having no luck finding answers for myself. Thanks in advance.

That little blue circle next to Insectile Aberration's card types is called a "color indicator". It serves as a replacement for spelling out its colors in the text box. For more information...

Okay, thanks. That answered all my questions.

In addition, the insect's controller may not use Commandeer/Misdirection/Divert on REB to redirect the spell in hope of saving the insect if there are no other blue permanents in play since there is no legal target.

If the spell was Pyroblast, he/she could change the target and target a land for example since Pyroblast doesn't require its target to be blue so the spell can fizzle.

REB > Plow > Abrupt Decay > burn > Pyroblast > Insectile Aberration
