On the commute, I found myself wondering about a 'nourishing lich' deck that tries to get past the singularity using draw spells like Treasure Cruise,Ideas Unbound,Thoughtcast and Visions of Beyond in conjunction with artifact mana and Brainfreeze.

Seeing Lion's Eye Diamond and Brain Freeze makes me wonder if there's a place for single Past in Flames to mill/replay all the Vision Skeins and such. Probably not without ritual mana, but I still think that it's a good "oops, I continue the chain" type of card.

You'd have to drop 2 LEDs at the same time in order to really make it worth it.

Yeah, with the lack of spell-based mana, something like Ill-Gotten Gains would be better. That said, this wasn't meant to be too serious.

I think you'll run into problems with Visions from Beyond + Treasure Cruise. VfB is probably never going to go off, unless you're brainfreezing yourself (which would be pretty awesome as a setup to a casual storm win).

Yep, that's basically the plan. Visions from Beyond does cantrip unconditionally so it's not completely dead with an empty gy.. (I'm a little surprised people haven't tried it in Jeskai Ascendency decks.) The deck should really feature more draw/discard effects like Tolarian Winds and Careful Study.

With all this looting and T Winds stuff, maybe you really should try the PiF, so that you may move further once there are cards in gy and an empty hand. Otoh, it cannot be played by anything else than LED, and as a singleton is pretty unreliable. IDK. I like the idea of looting+stuff and Brain Freeze with PiF.

I played the same deck only twice as slow with accumulated knowledge and 2 sapphire medallion !
