So, I was thinking about a Boros Prowess list I was playing around with a while back and wanted to try out a list that really tried to abuse Monastery Mentor:
4x Monastery Swiftspear
4x Monastery Mentor
4x Seeker of the Way
4x Lightning Bolt
4x Boros Charm
4x Orim's Chant
4x Swords to Plowshares
3x Land Tax
3x Sensei's Divining Top
3x Flame Jab
1x Rites of Initiation
4x Plateau
4x Arid Mesa
7x Mountain
7x Plains
I wanted to test out a few interactions with the Prowess mechanic, and both Land Tax + Flame Jab and Top + Top get the Prowess creatures really big really fast. Land Tax also provides shuffles for Top and I'm a big fan of Orim's Chant for both tempo plays, protection, miracle hate, and stopping the storm player out of the middle of nowhere. The numbers may not be perfect, but there's the possibility for some really busted plays from this list.

I know Abrupt Decay and friends are a thing, but why not Isochron Scepter? You have quite a few juicy targets.
I know you run Land Tax, but you should still run more fetches for more stable mana and shuffle effects for SDT.

How many do you think would fit? I could replace the Rites with Scepter easily, but would a second or even a third be worth it?

I could see 3-4 more fetches being good. I'll have to test it out.

How about using the Populate mechanic. Something like Rootborn Defenses will give you additional tokens and protect them from a pyroclasm or ratchet bomb.

consider mox diamond, it will let you run out turn 1 swiftspear and then mox land tax, or just turn 1 land tax, which is really strong.

Hey OP, I've toyed with MM for a while, and TC + cantrips was what made him tick*. The same goes for MS & SotW.
You do have to be able to chain spells AND refill your hand to make this strategy work. Let me cut to the chase: there's no non-blue deck that can do it properly.

Maybe you can draw some inspiration from it.
Edit: why Landtax?

The combo of Land Tax plus Flame Jab is very strong. At the very least it's Arc Lightning every turn, but when you have prowess guys out, the combo gets sort of ridiculous. Like you said, you need to be able to both chain spells and refill your hand, which the combo easily takes care of.
Why cast Brainstorm into Brainstorm into Ponder when you can Flame Jab three times, clearing away 2-3 blockers, and then bash for a ton?

You don't even really have that great of a way of abusing or guaranteeing Land Tax. And Flame Jab seems pretty subpar, my question then is since you're already heavy in red why not just go the superior Seismic Assault and like someone else mentioned, run Mox Diamond to accellerate it out with Land Tax as well. Drop that out turn 2-4 and you're throwing out 6 damage a turn with no mana investment.

Rites of Initiation and Young Pyromancer synergize. Rites seems like a nice finisher considering Mentor.. but if you were to play Pyromancer over Seeker, then Rites becomes stronger.
Also.. not entirely sure how Pyromancer's Ascension interacts with Retrace.. but if it works how I think it does.. then 2 Flame Jabs post Ascension, you can go ape shit with your Instants and Sorceries. I'm not sure that you're current build could incorporate Ascension because the deck is rather low on Burn spells and doubling Chants/Swords doesn't end the game as fast as burn spells would.. but its worth mentioning if you're willing to explore a build variation.
