4 Monastery Swiftspear
4 Young Pyromancer
4 Monastery Mentor
4 Anger

3 Jeskai Ascendancy

4 Gitaxian Probe
4 Brainstorm
3 Ponder
3 Faithless Looting

4 Force of Will
2 Spell Pierce
3 Lightning Bolt

3 Arid Mesa
4 Flooded Strand
4 Scalding Tarn
4 Tundra
3 Volcanic Island

Based on the idea: (http://www.mtgsalvation.com/forums/the-game/legacy-type-1-5/582744-fate-reforged-and-legacy?comment=49)
0: Mentor 2/2
1: Mentor 3/3, Token 1/1 (4)
2: Mentor 4/4, Token 2/2, Token 1/1 (7)
3: Mentor 5/5, Token 3/3, Token 2/2, Token 1/1 (11)
4: Mentor 6/6, Token 4/4, Token 3/3, Token 2/2, Token 1/1 (16)
5: Mentor 7/7, Token 5/5, Token 4/4, Token 3/3, Token 2/2, Token 1/1 (22)

So I've been testing the Mentor since it was spoilered and I attempted some sort of aggro/combo uwr shell.
This is a rough list, but it is definitly worth a look. Ofc, the deck would be alot better with Treasure Cruise still viable but both Mentor and Pyromancer generate
enought value.

Strategies:
-Discard Anger via Faithless Looting or Jeskai Ascendancy for Hastiness
-Cast Young Pyromancer/Monastery Mentor attack for the win
-Monastery Swiftspear is still a good turn 1 play combined with Lightning Bolt, Gitaxian Probe. It could also be
a Delver of Secrets in that slot.

Let me know what you think.

4x Anger seems excessive.

Play Mass Hysteria and Fatestitcher in the Anger slots. Probably a 1-3 split. The reason being that the Mass Hysteria means that most people will just explode. Yes, the Mass Hysteria can backfire, but it's a lot more interesting being a 1-cost non-creature for the Ascendancy.

With Jeskai Ascendancy in play it would be more like this:
0: Mentor 2/2
1: Mentor 4/4, Token 1/1 (5)
2: Mentor 6/6, Token 3/3, Token 1/1 (10)
3: Mentor 8/8, Token 5/5, Token 3/3, Token 1/1 (17)
4: Mentor 10/10, Token 7/7, Token 5/5, Token 3/3, Token 1/1 (26)

Burst of Speed might be better with Young Pyromancer though it obviously also has it's own mix of advantages and drawbacks. Switching from Faithless Looting to Ponder is also a significant upgrade.

Does Manamorphose make sense in a deck like this?

Possibly. It's a fixer pre-combo and a draw-spell post-combo.

Any ideas of the amount of Mass Hysteria or Burst of Speed?

I dislike Fatestitcher. I'd rather make 4 token and attack, than to
fully combo off without Treasure Cruise in the format.

I think the haste effects are 'danger off cool things'. They're bad unless you've - pretty much - already won. That said my inclination would be to include something like Dig Through Time and then, at most, 2 haste effects.

Without ascendancy, if you fire off 4 spells (including the haste effect) you get 16 damage, and 5 spells is 22. I'm not sure you can get a sufficient number of bodies without playing alternative cost spells or having mana problems.

For n=4 you have
8+6+2=16
For n=5, you have
12.5+7.5+2 = 22

Swiftspear seems utterly pointless in this deck. It is only thematically a fit since Mentor produces Swiftspears..

Why would you want to run a 1 mana aggro creature when you are really a combo/control deck..
