I'm keeping this short and simple:

In 2015 MKM (magiccardmarket) is starting a new tournament series, featuring 6 tournaments in 6 different European cities. I really hope this draws good attendance and breathes new life into Legacy (and Vintage). Maybe this develops into an European SCG like circuit. Hope to meet many of you there!

Team #EuroSwag is already making travel preparations, hoping to take down overall #1 in Legacy!

Seems cool. The only thing that bother me a little is:

All prizes will be given as Money Vouchers and deposited into MagicCardMarket account. Credit can be used to purchase products on www.magiccardmarket.eu.

Unless they make it different from usually, you should be able to cash out through the site? :)

Yep. Might just have to visit Europe later this year for some sweet Legacy and Vintage action.

I bet that's to skirt archaic gambling laws.

Posted this on another board, I'm not sure if it's been noted yet, but that site has come contradictory information:

Each format has its separate leaderboard. At the end of six stages, Top24 players of each format will play the four SuperFinal to become the MKM European Champion

After six stages, the Top32 players for each format will go to play the SuperFinals to decide the Champion and win the Special Prize.

Pretty cool, I'll try to make it to all of them... Concept of equal tournaments is interesting - given the number of traveling vintage players and their abysmal average skill level there is no way you can't top 32 if you know what you're doing

Oh, that is very likely correct.

I remember the old GP in germany, which didn't allow to pay prizes.

The language in the announcement seems a bit strange. MKM updated its General Terms and Conditions a short while ago, introducing a new subsection 16. There "Coupons" are described and it basically means that money credited to your account with a "Coupon" can not be cashed out to your bank account but only used to buy cards on MKM. The tournament announcement talks about "Money Vouchers". I don't know if "Money Vouchers" fall under subsection 16 of the General Terms and Conditions, but as the announcement of the tournament circuit also mentions that the credited money can be used to buy product on MKM, it would be my guess that the price money can not be cashed out to your bank account. Only guessing though, as the terms used are not the same, only similar. Both "Money Voucher" and "Coupon" can be translated to German as "Gutschein". Also it would explain why the announcement of the tournaments comes so closely after the update of the General Terms and Condition introducing such a feature.

And yes, archaic gambling laws are the reason why no big MtG tournament will be held in Germany.

As long as there's good coverage by people who know what they're doing, either as serious legacy players or as SKILLED magic players (Hall of famers or PT winners, none of this "I top 8'd a gp once" crap), I'll be ecstatic.

Barcelona pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeese .....

Why do you want them to do it in Barcelona and not Madrid? :o
In the webpage they already put a photo of a monument from Madrid, so it doesn't seem that they'll do it here.. :(

To be fair, Barcelona is one of Europe's most iconic cities to visit. I mean, I probably love Munich more than any other city in the world, but some great times were surely had in Barcelona
