Ok, so while playing with a buddy online last night we discussed some different variations of OmniTell. We brainstormed a couple of different variations. One was UB with Probe and Cabal Therapy and we brought up the idea of the CB/Top package with OmniTell and, ironically enough, I saw someone post a 60 card list with CB/Top in the OmniTell thread today. I figured I would brew up a list. Been testing with it on Cockatrice all day, but not much success. Any advice/criticism?

Lands- 19
4x Flooded Strand
4x Tundra
4x Scalding Tarn
3x Island
3x City of Traitors
1x Volcanic Island

Instant- 19
4x Brainstorm
4x Cunning Wish
3x Dig Through Time
4x Force of Will
3x Spell Pierce
1x Intuition

Sorcery- 8
4x Ponder
4x Show and Tell

Enchantment- 7
3x Counterbalance
4x Omniscience

Creature- 3
3x Emrakul

Artifact- 4x
SDT

SB:
3x Pithing Needle
2x Rest in Peace
1x Echoing Truth
1x Eladamari's Call
2x REB
2x Jace
2x Entreat the Angels
2x Terminus

So the idea is to be able to transform into a dedicated control list; however the SB feels clunky and I don't feel like with the CounterTop package much can be removed from the MD.

Thoughts?

Uhm, I feel that you probably have to think this through a bit more honestly.

Firstly, you are playing a very high count of nobasic lands (but still only 19 lands total) in a deck that is essentially mono-blue (game 1) and wants to resolve 3-cmc spells with spell pierce backup or play around daze etc.

Secondly, your curve is also pretty bad for CB/Top, very many 3's, 10's and 15-cmc cost spells which is definitely subpar. Also, the red splash feels a bit much as boarding into a second color is taxing enough for you main game plan, which I guess is to be a OmniTell-style combo deck?

Lastly, I don't know excatly which problems that are solved by playing a subpar combo deck game 1 and then boarding into a subpar miracle-style control deck post-board. You might get a lot of wins simply because that what you're doing is unexpected, but you might still have troubles as you are boarding from a non-creature-based combo deck that tries to resolve key spells into a non-creature-based control deck that are trying to resolve key spells. Do you understand what I'm referring to here?

This post is not meant to be condescending, but I feel that in order to get a good discussion going you have to present some reasonable arguments regarding why this version of OmniTell would be better than the original, apart from being a sweet brew of course.

At least pack Narset. When the card got out, I thought UW Omni would be the only deck able to play it in Legacy.

Terminus has to be in your maindeck as well. You don't need CB.
