So I've played a lot of different decks through the years, UR Delver being my current competitive deck. In the past, I played UW Landstill. But, I'm sure most everyone has a pet deck that they've had a thing for but it was never exactly Tier 1 level competitive. I am no different. I have a UW Trained Rebel deck that I really love. However, I play in a limited meta. (not a ton of guys at my FNM play legacy, they all just basically play EDH, Standard, and Modern)

Regardless, I want some feedback as to just how competitive all of you think this deck can be.

Creatures
4x Ramosian Sergeant
2x Children of Korlis
4x Defiant Falcon
1x Ramosian Lieutenant
2x Whipcorder
2x Lin Sivvi, Defiant Hero
2x Mirror Entity
1x Defiant Vanguard

Spells
4x Training Grounds
4x Force of Will
2x Counterspell
4x Brainstorm
2x Ponder
4x Swords to Plowshares

Lands
4x Gaea's Cradle
4x Hallowed Fountain
4x Flooded Strand
6x Plains
4x Island

The deck revolves around Lin Sivvi, Defiant Hero Mirror Entity Ramosian Sergeant Defiant Falcon Gaea's Cradle and Training Grounds, while using a robust counter set and draw engine. Basically, I'm looking for (1) general impressions of the deck and (2) how competitive it can be in legacy...I don't expect it to be a Tier 1 amazing legacy deck, but if it can be reasonably competitive, I'd be happy. Also, any obvious suggestions for improvement are always welcome, too. Thanks!

Just on first impression, I would say you should try out Cavern of Souls.

There was a similar Rebels thread a few years ago that you might look into:

Whenever I'm brewing a list, I always try to consider what decks I want to beat and then modify my list accordingly.

I think the deck has serious speed issues.

I wonder about:
Bound In Silence and Changeling Berserker as one of utility cards.

Since you're not looking to cast the creatures, things like Ethersworn Cannonist or Eidolon of Rhetoric might work ok in this deck.

A tutored Bound in Silence is a thing of
beauty; correct me if I'm wrong, but it hits Emrakul or hexproof creatures at instant speed and can't be countered. Same with Big Game Hunter.

I feel like Whipcorder, Vanguard, Entity would be singleton bullets... I feel like Big Game Hunter belongs as a bullet for sure.

Training Grounds I'm not so sure about. Is investing a card to make rebel searches cheaper really that good? It could be Chrome Mox or Springleaf Drum or other source of mana acceleration, and would that not be better overall?

What about Standstill? Turn 1 Sergeant turn 2 Standstill sounds like fun to me. Always keep counter spell mana open and find a rebel at end of opponents turn.

I think you definitely want good equipment, with begets Stoneforge Mystic, at whoch point it starts looking like Stoneblade/ Cawblade with rebels serving the Squadron Hawk role... Which is probably a good place to be.

Perhaps Rebel Stompy with sol lands? Turn 1 Tomb Chalice, turn two Cavern Sergeant?

@Belge: Grounds is the base of this deck, because if make all abilities cheaper, overloading the board with rebels ^^'
