Recently I accepted a new job and the town it is in has ZERO legacy (basically) ever so I am toying around with downsizing my collection extensively to payoff student loans and my car.
I basically have access to every legacy deck at this time and looking back I have only really played Sneak-n-show, CBTop and Omni-Tell; so my question is do I sell off the legacy stuff I don't use like the other 30 some duals and staples that I never use and pay down the debt or do I sitback and hold my collection for a while longer.
I know threads like this come up often, however with the way legacy is trending I worry that the prices will slowly bleed away and I will be just kicking myself in a few months. Are my worries about the health of legacy unfounded?

You have three options: start your own scene, sell your collection, or look to rent a place on a month-to-month basis before you get out!

There is the 4th option of selling the parts of his collection he rarely plays, while keeping the cards he usually plays with. With those cards, he can either start a local scene and play with them, or keep them for when he moves to a town with a bigger Legacy presence.
But I think this question is mostly wondering about the future prices of Legacy cards. You might find better answer about this on https://www.reddit.com/r/mtgfinance and https://www.reddit.com/r/personalfinance though :)
IMO, I don't like debt, so I would try to pay off what I can, by selling cards I probably won't ever play. For example, I mostly play blue decks. At some point, I wanted to try MUD and Turbo Eldrazi. So I started building them, but never got around to finish the decks and playing them. If I had debt to pay off, it would make sense for me to sell those cards.

I am just like you Tyler. Including the decks you mentioned building although I did get to finish and play them... I had a blast with Eldrazi, not so much MUD.
Thanks for the input, I will look at the Reddit pages!!

You're not really faced with a deadline here, so since you have all the tools for a Legacy scene (ie, a collection that can build anything) take a few decks to FNM and make new friends, and grow your own scene. There's nothing like something new to spark interest and there's nothing like the best cards in the game to help you do just that. I'd say give making a scene a shot, and if you know you're staying for the job and the scene won't accept Legacy, then you know you've done your best to make an informed decision and you could part with the cards you won't or don't play.

Thanks for the further input. If only I had more FOWs this would be easier.... I hate proxies, but for Legacy I will suck it up.
