Well, the spoiler is out to it's time for my personal impressions of the set:

For those interested in last week's deck (this includes all those nice people among you who posted in last week's thread - thanks for the feedback!), don't worry, I'll talk about that list and Lille in general next week - if you have any specific questions, keep'em coming, I'll answer them if I can.

I assumed a bit more extensive comment, but you got all the cards that caught my eye too. Well, except the mastery tutor, you think that's no good?

Artificer's Epiphany, unlike Thirst for Knowledge does not work well with Goblin Welder, nor does it provide a way to get rid of Blightsteel Colossus. The restriction of Brainstorm + Thirst for Knowledge made Tinker a really bad wincon if the Blightsteel is doomed to strand in your hand every now and then. I still like the card as it's a nice manasink for Mana Drain, but it isn't really groundbreaking

Evolutionary Leap -> NicFit (Veteran Explorer lol)

Meh, the deck already durdles too much as it is. It also doesn't play well with Pernicious Deed. And the prospect of trading a Siege Rhino (even if it's eating a StP to the face) for a Veteran Explorer in the late game doesn't really tickle my fancy when I skip past removal/GSZ whilst doing so.

Was confused about this as well, but then I remembered that he did an entire article about that card plus the Timetwister clone when they were first spoiled. I'd think that is probably the reason for not mentioning either of them in this one.

Hi Carsten,
I’m a huge fan of your work and I think you provide some of the best Legacy content on the net. That beeing said, that is why I read your articles.
So from my point of view all these „standard relevant“ cards only clutter the review. I’m reading this to get a Legacy view of the new set. There are way enough Standard reviews out there. I think you should focus on the Legacy side of things. Even if the article is smaller that way.

Just my 2c.

Exactly that. Maybe then Molten Vortex would get more love.

What about Evolutionary Leap + Dryad Arbor as your only creature -> stack your whole deck for 3 mana ? Finding the singleton dryad is easy enough with fetchlands. It sounds dumb but maybe there's potential for a brew, I know Modern Belcher uses a similar trick with Recross the Paths.

The "and the rest on the bottom of your library in a random order" part kinda kills that.

I wouldn't expect many more of these tricks to happen. Cascade is worded that way too for this reason.

Violent Outburst, nothing < 3 in my deck? Sure, I'll stack the whole thing.

True, I should have read the card before posting. ><
