Hey all. I'm looking for some (preferably free) software to record my screen when playing mtgo.

I've been using something called screenomatic but their free version only allow recording for 15 minute sessions and will only allow 1 recording saved at a time.

Anybody got some recommendations?

OBS is the go-to standard, free streaming program. It also does local recordings if those are all you need.

I can second OBS. It will also allow you to overlay things on top of the game like a webcam or an image if you're into that.

Yup. Will stream to twitch very easy and / or record your screen. Works for macs too.

Although if you just want to record your screen and have a mac, quicktime has a feature thats already built in that can screen record.

Hmm...been thinking of streaming lately. I have no clue on how to develop an audience but this is nice.

Ignoring the parts about having a quality stream:

Post here when you get your channel set up
IMO, Get on twitter, if you're not already
Be consistent in stream times - If I know I can catch the same guy playing at 4PM every weekday, I'll have my browser opened before you even sign on.

To tack onto that, a well formed title helps differentiate you from other low-viewer count streamers (when I'm looking for new people to watch). Which format, what deck, record (maybe) is pretty useful.

As someone that rarely drops in looking for a stream, when I do I am looking for a Format and a deck. I am not going to mess around. If those things do not match I am leaving. Putting them in the title is a godsend to me.
