There was a pretty vague, but interesting, deck tech on a supposedly vengevine/intuition list with shardless agents in columbus, which played forces, deathrites, cloud of faries and GSZ. I tried a makeup list but wasn't really convinced. Then i tried moving away from 1 cmc cards and add in chalices. Then naturally i added, copying from the latest iterations of sea stompy, trinket mage. I was severely impressed by trinket mage. It's a 3 mana 2 creature spell in one which also can fetch a land/chalice if needed, and fetching hangarbacks is a strong play vs fair decks. Differently from wild mongrel, it doesn't require you to play 4+ subpar minions, but just 1 or 2. It has other downsides, but in general i find it that much better.

After half a day of testing, i refined a first list:

Creatures:
4 Cloud of Faeries
4 Vengevine
4 Trinket Mage
2 Jace, Vryn's Prodigy
1 Hangarback Walker
1 Memnite

Safety:
4 Force of Will
4 Chalice of the Void
1 Engineered Explosives

Looting and CA:
1 Sylvan Library
4 Thirst for Knowledge
4 Intuition

Mana:
1 Mox Diamond
1 Polluted Delta
1 Tree of Tales
4 Gaea's Cradle
4 Tropical Island
3 Wasteland
4 Ancient Tomb
4 Misty Rainforest
4 Flooded Strand

SB: 1 Pithing Needle
SB: 1 Misdirection
SB: 1 Tormod's Crypt
SB: 3 Phyrexian Revoker
SB: 1 Sylvan Library
SB: 2 Krosan Grip
SB: 4 Dismember
SB: 2 Thorn of Amethyst

The strongest line of play of the deck is T1 chalice off tomb, T2 intuition off tomb+ land, T3 Trinket mage for 2 vengevines, plus eventually a cradle for the third vengevine. With FoW backup. Obviously this is christmasmagicland but it's just to give you an idea.

Makes no mistakes, the list is terrible. It's extremely awkward at the 2 cmc spot in particular, and that's why i added 2 jaces as looters. Being able to loot pre-combat is important, so looter il-kor is not considered here, and the ability to block/transform and flashback intuition/thirst give it the edge over the normal looter. It still feel a pretty mediocre card, but still. Survival would probably be marginally better here, but alas, it's banned so.

Cloud of faeries is also a relatively unimpressing card. It allow you to play 2 creatures in one turn easily if you have it, sure, but otherwise it's just a 1/1 flier. Couldn't think of anything that had a similar role and power level in its place. In the midgame it can give you millions of mana with cradle, but without a mana outlet it's usually wasted. Maybe Coiling Oracle in its place as CA + possible ramp? Obviously, frantic searhc would be amazing here, but again, it's banned! Damn you WotC!

Suggestions welcome! Deck is pretty fun as it consistently vomit out vengevines while having decent defense.

I don't get why you'd use Cloud Vine as basis, that whole deck is centered on Cloud, Cradle, Zenith, and Edric interactions.
