Emrakul, the Promised End
13
Legendary Creature - Eldrazi
THIS costs :1: less to cast for each card type among cards in your graveyard.
When you cast THIS, gain control of target opponent during their next turn. After that turn, that player takes an additional turn.
Flying, trample, protection from instants
13/13
....
Eeeeeehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

Id say useless card, in legacy i can only see it as a reanimation target played instead of inkweel (but being soft to karakas isnt cool).
Maybe it can be good in modern tron, dont really know about that.
Not gonna lie, if I take control of my opponent's next turn.....there's a 100% chance I'm going to have them forget their extra turn trigger.
Not a huge fan of the stats on it; looks like the cost can go down to 5 so Oath of Nissa goes up in price for standard I guess. The protection from instants combined with opportunity to hit their sorc-speed removal is interesting.

Boring! Eldrazi already again! :(
But we basically all knew what was coming.
I just hope WotC found a way in the story to save Innistrad in the end _without_ killing Emrakul! :/
The design of the Emrakul card seems reasonable. Sorceries work against him/it/her! (And colorless Instants don't work anymore.) And WotC found an interesting twist of "cast trigger extra turn".
Storywise from the trailer I don't quite get if Liliana is fighting with or against Emrakul. Both options don't make much sense (you can't ally with Emrakul and Zombies don't stand a chance against Emrakul no matter how many). But she seems to be interested in getting Innistrad under her control.
I wonder how many Eldrazi cards will be in Eldritch Moon. Hopefully not that many considering Emrakul just arrived. #EldraziUntilYouPuke

I don't get the cast trigger design-wise. What's the point of giving your opponent a free Time Walk to rebuild after you just Mindslaver'ed their ass back into the stone age?
Overall, pretty disappointed by the card.

Probably to prevent slaver loops. Naively, that ability seems really weak.

Overall, pretty disappointed by the card.
Protection from Instants + Protection from Sorceries in hand + 1 off the top. The card design is actually pretty good for maintaining most of the Protection from colored spells clause in a new and innovative way.
Probably to prevent slaver loops. Naively, that ability seems really weak.
It costs 13.
At 13 you should be allowed any kind of loopy masturbation your dirty mind can imagine.
Besides, slaver loops are a piece of cake in a world with Goblin Welder.

So you get Mindslavers ability to control the opponent for a turn , but without the added benefit of the attached TimeWalk. Might be interresting as a midrange option for Tron in Modern and maybe even for 12-Post, but its much worse than the original incarnation for cheating it into play and as a finisher. Being counterable is a big deal.

My reasoning for playing Inkwell is approximately equal parts Karakas avoidance and Islandwalk. Plus, It's possible I might actually hard cast Inkwell. I can't really see playing Emmy2 over Inkwhell unless I'm unable to find my Inkwell.
Not gonna lie, if I take control of my opponent's next turn.....there's a 100% chance I'm going to have them forget their extra turn trigger.
By my reading, the slaver and extra turn are part of the same trigger ("When you cast Emrakul...") and therefore you can't miss one part and not the other.

Itll realistically cost 8-9 mana in legacy. Castable through blood moon, even if ultra slow. Might be worth considering as a sideboard or replacing one endbringer in colorless eldrazi deck. The extra turn effect is really bad but the fact that it has protection from everything not malestorm pulse might be worth considering since it ends the game on next swing.

There are 8 possible card types ( land, instant, sorcery, creature, artifact, enchantment, planeswalker, tribal ) so it could cost as little as 5 (and that's before accounting for silly stuff like Eye of Ugin or Heartless Summoning.) And I don't think WotC has tested it, but Karakas is pretty strong as combo pieces go.
I guess it could be a blowout against combo decks, but mostly it just seems too weak to justify itself.

For the love of all things holy, stop saying sorceries can kill this. You control their next turn, that Maelstrom Pulse is going to target one of their own permanents!
Here's how it's gonna go down: Their Lilly -2 targeting self. Pulse their Lilly. Oh, and you're going to take control of their turn as Visions has 1 counter left on it of course. #value
As far as legacy is concerned there is a key piece of text missing: Look at their top 3 cards and arrange them in any order. You need something this strange to kill SDT and CB with their own Wear/Tear since an astute player with 1 mana up would spin SDT holding priority, tap the top, and bury it ~2 cards deep.

Extra turn isn't really that bad actually, just look at it as you are the one playing the extra turn, with your opponent cards, trying to screw his gameplan, then the game goes back to normal and its you opponent turn as usual

If they have no cards and you draw a creature or land its kinda bad.
If they have any remval and a creature in play(attack into emrakrul) it seems pretty strong!
Overall cool card but nothing to get hyped!

I am wondering how good the loop with Karakas is, especially against decks full of Ponder, Brainstorm, and SDT.
Edit: On reflection, the vulnerability to counterspells makes a big dent in it.

Fluffwise, I'm bummed it's Emrakul instead of the Phyrexians
I don't see any obvious uses for this card in Legacy, but I'm generally bad at anticipating that stuff. However, I'm wondering if the real impact of the set will be new additions to Eldrazi Stompy. If they print a few more good mid-size Eldrazi, that could really push that deck over the top (though at the same time, I'm not sure what type of creature that deck even wants that it doesn't already have).

I think it usually costs 8 mana at that point in the game, not a number Legacy or even Standard is too struggling to acquire in an "Eldrazi" deck.
It is a highly resilient, evasive, kills-in-two-hits beater with a Mindslaver-on-cast effect that can't be countered.
And it's a reanimation target, as just a fatty.
The thing is a multi-format player, as a sideboard against control decks if nothing else. I can't imagine losing too often after casting this.

Nahiri sure as fuck looks flavourful now.
The issue with this card in Eldrazi is that they already have TKS which effectively is already a 4-mana Mind Slaver with it's exile from hand ETB dictating what they can do next turn. By the time you can activate Eye of Ugin, you're going to want to grab Smasher, Endbringer, or new-Ulamog all before new-Emmy.
It is a poor choice for reanimation effects, but Lotus Petal-Reanimator might realistically be able to hardcast it with cost-reduction value Entombs. That is still pretty much strictly worse than reanimating Sphinx of the Final Word or even Archetype of Endurance; as far as hard-casting both Grave Titan and Scumlord (aka Silumgar, the Drifting Death).
Decks that would want this are probably looking to punish slower prison'y decks for employing powerful effects they can't possibly control. There's certainly shenanigans a deck like NicFit could employ using this to realistically ancestral themselves when Shardless BUG suspends Visions...but I think if you're putting this card into your sideboard you're basically baiting opponent into ticking up JTMS and then taking control to ult them out of the game. This is also convenient for NicFit which tends to lose by ramping decks like miracles into JTMS.
Decks that win by stuff like JTMS ult don't run Stifle, this card is a 5-13 cmc uncounterable you lose by Willbender effect. The body doesn't matter in legacy.

There are no Tribal cards in Standard. 6 mana minimum.
Also the Eldrazi deck doesn't run Enchantments, Sorceries, Tribals, or Planeswalkers (maybe an All Is Dust from the SB but that's it). It's going to take a lot to make an Eldrazi deck that's better than turn 2 TKS turn 3 Smasher that can get this efficiently, even with Eye.

As far as Legacy is concerned, isn't this card at least a decent anti-Miracles card for most any deck with 20+ land?
7-13 mana uncounterable Mindslaver (that gets cheaper the more of your stuff they've countered), can't be Counterbalanced, buries Tops, lets you do stupid things with their win conditions, counterspells and removal, and leaves behind a 13/13 flample unless they Forced it or find a Terminus. Even if they Jace bounce it, you can still cast it again.

Someone on Salvation speaks the truth:
I love the addition of Lovecraftian elements to Innistrad, but I really wish it wasn't from Emrakul. I'm so sick of every block being about some outside Planeswalker(s). Is it too much to ask that when we go to a unique and interesting plane, we get to focus fully on its uniqueness and interestingness rather than just having it be a backdrop for the overarching story?

Emrakul The End is interesting. She's not competing for any space with herself in decks that want to cheat out a fattie with Oath or Show and Tell; if you do that, you absolutely want to be tearing Aeons, not keeping Promises. But, I like Emrakul the Lesser in a ramp deck. The first ramp spell of each category you cast counts twice for fueling her. Rampant Growth adds a land and reduces her cost. Ditto Veteran Explorer or Sakura Tribe-Elder. If she's your curve topper at 8-9 mana, she wins pretty handily in a midrangey, aggro deck. Legacy? Probably not, since the cost is high even for Nic Fit, but Modern ramp could absolutely use this.
However -- the Daily MTG story article about this card is laughably bad. "I'mrakul! Y'mrakul? Cool'mrakul!" Wow. That's some... excellent story telling there.
Someone on Salvation speaks the truth:
You say that, but this turns out badly (Kamigawa) as often as it works well (Lorwyn). Besides, they need to give the SUPERFRIENDS something to do. They also need some excuse to add a black member to the SUPERTEAM. So, lets' go to Innistrad and draft Liliana.
Nahiri sure as fuck looks flavourful now.
She did before. Seriously, you had to be pretty dedicated to the idea of WotC tossing out red herrings like they were going out of style to not draw the conclusion that she was the Harbinger of Emrakul the moment that set was spoiled.

It's not even the fact that they went with all Emrakul's followers talking in some kind terrible pig-latin (Eldrazi-latin?). It's that suddenly Emrakul is acting like a rational evil creature. Remember when we were told Eldrazi were so alien that their thought processes were totally inscrutible? Welp, Jace had a freak'n conversation with ol' Emmy in this last story article.
The enteral infinity—this world is mine.
The absolute—I shall have all.
The beginning—I shall be all.
The being—all are'mrakul.
The end.
The end.
The end.
That doesn't sound like an alien species with inscrutable intentions to men.
Oh well. At least we have this really outstanding, Mark Tedin-esque art that BETTER be an amazing Magic card. Seriously, this is some of the best art I've seen in a few sets.

This was the paradigm for years. It gave us Kamigawa, Ravnica, Lorwyn, Alara, and Zendikar before we picked up any real continuing storyline, and even then it was easy to miss or ignore on the card level until BFZ.
RE: Jace talking with Emrakul: Remember, Emrakul induces madness in people, and has been able to do that since the Eldrazi first dropped (see: Eldrazi Conscription). It's entirely possible that it's not Jace speaking to Her directly, but rather Jace speaking to whatever spark of insanity She's induced in his mind - he's essentially fighting the voices in his head. Emrakul's actual mind is totally unfathomable, which is why people go mad in the first place.

Ulrich of the Krallen, number 191, is gold. So probably mono-colored and the GSZ-fanatic in me hopes it's a low enough CMC green card with a reasonable flip-clause. Something like having 2 land ETB the same turn. Or die. I'm fine with that too.
Looking at past sets, it's probably one of the last red cards or first green ones. I so hope for the latter.

I'm still waiting for a set that is worth playing standard.
I rather liked the som/isd standard, last standard I played before that was rath/saga.
I find a lot of sets to be extremely boring and I don't like 90% of the cards I see.
Currently I dont like standard and from what I seen of the way spoilers come out are supposed to be the best cards first then a neat gem surrounding junk.

Under the current New World Order where everything is simplified, recycled and made more expensive than the old, iconic version? Good luck with that one...

Oh tell me about it, I was ecstatic about mirrodin1 but the sets around it were very meh at best.
I kinda liked kamigawa but not enough to play standard, onslaught was good but like many kamigawa was bad.
Mirrodin1 was great but the blocks around it made it so if you didn't play affinity you cried like everyone about sfm/bskull and then newer delver(really!).
But it's just mistakes instead if making good cards, now we get a few good cards every few years and standard keeps sucking.
Makes me want to play Pokémon!

Could the foil reflection, but the artwork looks kinda meh.
Despite being 3 mana, I could see her becoming an integral part of D&T. Deny their mana first, than drop Thalia 2.0 to severely hamper their fetchland shenanigans due to double dipping. 3 first strike power is also nothing to sneeze at.
I could also imagine some SB combo with Crackdown as it doesn't hit white creatures like Meekstone does.
Edit: Since it only affects the opponent, a blue splash with Back to Basics would also be hilarious. Or Winter Orb for staying in-color.

It costs three times the mana, but isn't symmetrical. That's more than just "slightly altered" since Root Maze is best played at T1 and puts restrictions on your own manabase while this does not.
Wow. It only took 3-4 years since they printed the last relevant card for Soldier Stompy, but here it is in a big way.

Thalia's new flavor text should just read:
"Sorry for Wingmare..."
Love that she stops early aggro. Love that she works alongside other Thalia. Love that she adds a different angle of land taxation (instead of just redundancy). Love that Vial in those decks loves the number 3 more than anything. Thalia is love. Love is Thalia.
Am I over-reacting to this card? You bet. I know she isn't everything and more, but as a white weenie / DNT player - I've been waiting for her for a long time now. It's another show of good will to Modern players who still can't get over SFM ban.
Can't wait to reassemble my Tier 2 (1.5 at best) Modern Death and Taxes and maybe new Thalia can bump the deck up to Tier 1? Only playtesting will tell...

I think this is also a great thing to drop on turn 1. If you want to threaten T1 Chrome Mox, Sol Land, Thalia, T2 Wasteland, what does the rest of the list look like?
The thing is that Root Maze is terrible late game, but this thing - at minimum - is a body.

I have an Ancient Tomb + City of Traitors + Chrome Mox Soldier Stompy list that played 4 Thalia, Guardian of Thraben and 4 Winter Orb maindeck that was already sort of competitive (cashed a few big tournaments with it), and throwing this new Root Maze soldier in the mix with Winter Orb and the original Thalia just seems like it could be really disruptive.
Getting this creature into play off Chrome Mox + Sol-Land and/or off Preeminent Captain is alot faster than getting it into play with any other deck. And Winter Orb + this Thalia is just nasty.

True. I should clarify - she's good at stopping little aggro creatures. Maybe good against zoo, merefolk, ground tokens, burn deck creatures (assuming they haven't fried her yet), and some affinity... (although by turn 3...)

If you're using up cards for fast mana and resistors, are you going to have enough to take advantage of Captain's ability too? I'd expect the resistor plan to be better with 'value' bodies like stoneforge mystic or eldrazi displacer or resistor bodies like mindcensor and thalia's horse than with 'acceleration' bodies like the captain.

I was referring to the Modern and Constructed format.
When I've run hate bearers or a death and taxes build, zoo and early burn aggro decks can be a weakness to a deck in which most early creature drops are lock pieces that you really don't want to be blocking with -- and people can attack me all they want for mentioning that, doesn't detract away from her being awesome.
As for other kinds of aggro? At least she turns off haste.
I do think she has a spot in Legacy - but not for all the reasons I mentioned before...

Well remember it was Wizards that complained that leaking those spoilers early hurt the Magic community by taking away all the excitement and build-up to a big reveal (http://magic.wizards.com/en/articles/archive/feature/why-leaks-hurt-2015-12-16).
You're right that the set symbol is a pretty big giveaway though, and it's not like anyone was expecting anything else after the last block. It's like they brought out Neil Pert and Alex Lifeson, then announced a "mysterious special guest" would be joining them. Well of course it's fucking Geddy Lee. I just think it's ironic that 6 months ago they were bitching about how important the slow reveal of spoiler season was, and now they just drop presumably the biggest spoiler of the set on day 1. Maybe I'm not giving them enough credit and Emrakul is just a giant, mythic, overpowered distraction, or like thedogue said, just setting the stage for the return of Marit Lage.

The thing was, the Kozilek spoilers were super early, and more importantly not on WOTC's terms. Also, Emrakul was all but a lock for this set, while with OGW I'm sure we expected a Titan (Kozilek or Emrakul), but I don't think anyone was expecting an entire new mana symbol. This, combined with WOTC's scheduled release plan, meant that there was 2-3 weeks of speculation on the symbol before anyone could confirm what it actually meant. The Kozilek was bigger than just "we knew Emmy was coming". It was a major new change that not only affected the new set, but also cards from the past 22 years, and WOTC didn't get to roll that out themselves.

"During a game, players may look at their own sideboard and the sideboard of any players they currently control. The sideboard must remain clearly distinguishable from other cards."
As of Eldritch Moon, this rule is changing. Simply put, you can now never see an opponent's sideboard, even if you control that opponent. The exact language of the rule is being finalized.

Being a combo player myself, knowing if your opponent is siding in permanent-based hate or just "moar counterspells" is a great advantage.
Lost many games to opponents having a split between Relic of Progenitus and Rest in Peace.
Shit, I can even remember a game that I lost because the opponent had 1x Nihil Spellbomb, 1x Extirpate and 1x Surgical Extraction. I went off turn 0 and was met with Surgical Extraction on Griselbrand.

I really hope they print equipments with this new mechanic ! Imagine 2 living weapons that get a black artifact-creature ! Lol

That's a test print, there are plenty of them and not every single feature in them ends being in the finish product.
Also most of the last batch of test print are based on random cards, so you shouldn't pay much attention at the card being and endbringer.

But we kind of do this all the time already, right -- or at least we do it implicitly. In a direct sense, stuff like Auras and Equipment is attached to the creature. Indirectly, I notice it's common to pair up permanent types frequently, like... pairing two Swamps with a Cabal Coffers, or the land you tap to turn Mishra's Factory into a 2/2. Like it isn't really an uncommon spectacle to have cards physically paired, at least in this way they are paired a little more intentionally. I don't think it's really such a bad thing if we have stacked cards representing a Devastator in play.

Having to flip and assemble multiple cards just to have your opponent tap a plains to deal with it is super annoying.

IIRC There was some blather about "not enough design space" for colorless mana to be an ongoing or evergreen thing, so, at least for a short while, we'll probably only see it on mana sources going forward.
Edit:
I'm a little curious to see what the meld cards and rules will be like. There may be some features to offset the automatic 2-for-1 that we expect them to represent.

I think that unless one of these dudes straight-up wins the game on its own, it's unlikely to be worth it (at least in Legacy). I mean, you already have to go through a fair number of hoops just to get your Gurmag Angler on the table in the first place; sacrificing it just to get another creature seems like a poor trade *unless* said creature is a game-ender. Then again, maybe there's something that's aggressively costed that could see play. I also think that they might be tacking on 'draw a card' or some other similar replacement effect on ALL of them to make up for the sacrificed creature, so maybe these have potential beyond Limited.

There is a subtle difference in what each of those mean though.
"She now hears only Emrakul's murmurs." Implies she heard other mumurs in the past, but now only Emrakul's.
"Now she only hears Emrakul's murmurs." Implies that she can only hear Emrakul now and could be interpreted that that is literally the only thing she can hear.

I expect it's already taken care of. There are already rules in place about trying to transform cards that don't actually have another face, like... Clone can't be transformed by Moonmist if it were copying a Delver of Secrets, because it doesn't actually have Insectile Aberration on the other side. Probably, Meld will work the same way.

Meld seems bad. Turning 2 cards in their sleeves and then trying to keep them together as one creature when tapping it and stuff. Also, that the Meld-creature is bigger than your other creatures looks weird.
And it's too much Yu-gi-oh (or something) and not MtG.
So, we have multi-cards from Duel Masters, a reworked offering mechanic from Betrayers of Kamigawa, and renamed Entwine.
yaaaay.
true
Counterspell and creature bounce in one? Also has corner-case applications with Cast and Storm triggers.
Spell-Bounce is not a counterspell. And this is not a Remand either.
Still, some combo-deck might find it useful.
It's a cool card, but I don't think it's beating out Submerge given the ability to shuffle away a Goyf. Reasonable card in a Snapcaster deck I guess.
Uncounterable spells it can hit which matter are Decay, your own Flusterstorm, potentially some eldrazi cast off a Cavern of Souls. I'm sure I've missed some, but the real tragedy is that it doesn't really stop [old] Emrakul.

Kind of neat on an Isochron Scepter since it can protect itself from Abrupt Decay, one of the primary weaknesses of the combo.
If counterbalance ever gets the ax, it'd be neat to see some no-stick build emerge.

I'm surprised there isn't!
With my first literation of high tide the first night I tried it ibhad an opponent with a silence on a stick. It was tough but I powered through and beat him.
I tapped out his lands at end of turn because he was using the silencestick during my upkeep.
He had a counterspell he never used for some unknown reason but I had an answer to it.
I went off the next turn ftw.
Still no idea why he never used the counterspell.

Two new spoilers:
Emrakul's Influence (name unconfirmed) :2: :g: :g:
Enchantment (u)
Whenever you cast an Eldrazi creature spell with CMC 7 or greater, draw two cards.
Docent of Perfection :3: :u: :u:
Creature - Insect Horror (r)
Flying
Whenever you cast an instant or sorcery spell, put a 1/1 blue Human Wizard token onto the battlefield. Then, if you control three or more Wizards, transform ~.
5/4
////////
Final Iteration
Creature - Eldrazi Insect
Flying
Wizards you control get +2/+1 and have flying.
Whenever you cast an instant or sorcery spell, put a 1/1 blue Human Wizard creature token onto the battlefield.
6/5
I don't think either of them is really playable in Legacy, due to cost, but I could see both of them as possibles elsewhere.
EDIT: I a word on the green card. Fixed now.

So Docent of Perfection is basically SSJ3 Delver that shits out further Delvers. Kinda cool in terms in flavor.
A shame the flavor text on the front side isn't "And this is going even further beyond!"

Making the "insectile aberration" into an eldrazi seems pretty poor from a flavor perspective.
FWIW, the back side is called "Closing Experiment" in German, so unless that translation is official the English name could still change.

Grisly Anglerfish
Creature - Eldrazi Fish
:6: : Creatures your opponents control attack this turn if able.

Docent of Perfection is like a souped up version of Talrand, Sky Summoner. Vintage could potentially play this, as 5 mana is more do-able in a format with stuff like Black Lotus and Sol Ring, but honestly 1 mana can make or break a card.
In Legacy, 5 mana for a creature is kind of a hard sell. *But*, decks like Reanimator could cheat on the cost. That deck plays Grave Titan as a threat to get around Edict effects. This guy requires you to follow up with some spells but has a similar effect that's arguably more powerful. Also, in a longer game Docent is more feasibly hard-cast than Titan, and being Blue makes it so he can pitch to Force of Will.

Probably outclassed by Talrand, but interesting nonetheless, as it still has Prowness:

Lone Rider is kinda interesting, but probably more playable in Modern. One would need equipment, pump or Exalted to realistically trigger it. Or a Lightning Helix.

It's not sorcery speed and it only hits creatures but yes, its pretty bad,
Does Lone rider make the cut in modern? It's not great as a 1/1 but 4/4 lifelink, trample and first strike for a 2 mana investment ain't too shabby

It's sort of doable in a Turbo-Pump deck, though, as it triggers on each end-step, rather than just yours.

This seems interesting. 1U too much though?
This is the first card from the set that I'm legitimately excited about. It's such a wonky toolbox of effects!
It's an out to cheaty decks like Tinker / Oath / Show and Tell / Sneak Attack!
It's removal for angel tokens and Marit Lage!
It's a hard counter if they used an expendable resource to cast the spell (ritual, blue card pitching to force, wtvr)
It's sometimes Delay on critical early turns!
It stops spells that cannot be countered! (One turn late on your Abrupt Decay = gg)
It punishes cards you cast as Miracles really hilariously!
It lets you save your own critical spell from a counterspell!
It plays funny games with Storm count and Mentor tokens!
It will need a very particular metagame / kind of deck to shine, but bow howdy this is going in the Vintage / Legacy playable box for sure.

It's hard to say how much value the bounce effect adds, but Remand - which is significantly stronger as a counterspell (drawing a card is worth not hitting decay) isn't legacy playable. A 2 mana unsummon isn't particularly exciting either. I think card advantage being so precious and mana being so tight in legacy it's just hard to imagine this seeing much play. If it were one mana, sure, it'd be pretty exciting, but paying 2 mana to go down a card just doesn't seem like it's gonna cut it.

Yes, but a four-mana brainstorm is really bad too, right? And then again Jace, the Mindsculptor.
Flexibility is key here. This card is useful in more situations than Remand -- or any other counterspell. It's useful not only when you need to stop a spell, but also when you need to deal with a permanent or stop an UNCOUNTERABLE spell. In exchange, it's slightly less useful against most spells as compared to a hard counter. It's more flexible and less absolute than played cards.
We've seen this before. Wizards has been on overdrive of printing good variants on counterspells in the last five years. We got Spell Pierce, Flusterstorm, Mindbreak Trap, Swan Song and others. This card easily fits somewhere in that group.

06-28-2016, 01:05 PM
The average mana cost for those 4 spells is .75. This is a tempo card and tempo decks play with super super tight curves in legacy. They play 0 mana counterspells and occasionally 1 mana counterspells. Only hard control decks can afford to play 2 mana actual-Counterspell, and it's still never a full package. And hard control decks aren't going to play bad-Remand.
I suspect this won't even see much Modern play, but it's more viable in that format where curves aren't as tight and the board matters more. (And I will play this all the time in limited.)

Lone Rider might be... okay in like, Soul Sisters? :/ That's not a Legacy deck last I knew but it seems like it's still kicking in Modern. It would be fairly academic to transform it the turn it was played in a deck like that, but I think maybe there are better things to do in said decks. Maybe if you don't need an Auriok Champion you could just jam a 4/4 instead. I dunno. Yay weird white cards
