Let's wait for a good primer from the creator of this very cool concept deck and I take advantage asking him already: why don't you play something to check opponent's hand before going off?

In all your lists you don't play either Thoughtseize or Clique.
It's impossible you haven't thought about it. What's the reason for this exclusion?

Karakas (for Clique) would be very good against both new star: BR Reanimator and BG Depths.

It's not on stream this week and I think you can only watch the most recent broadcasts? (Iirc the player was at eternal weekend) So you can't see it now, but probably again in the coming weeks.

Thanks for the interest, guys! I'm not totally sure it's a new deck instead of an evolution of MonoU Omnitell, but I suppose it can't hurt to make a new thread. I'll sketch out a primer. To the mods: once we have a primer, have my results qualified the deck for Established Decks? If not, what are you looking for? So far:

Fair question. I'm playing red for the same reason Miracles is - Red Blast is way too good to not play. Without it, there really isn't a good answer to Counterbalance because it can just counter whatever you try to cast to answer it. Counterbalance is a huge problem for this deck, of course. White is a given for removal, and the manabase can't really support a 4th color, so that's one reason for no Thoughtseize. Another is that it's not really the sort of disruption that this deck wants, because it's more of a control deck than anything.

Clique is a fine card, but it's just not as impactful as Mentor. I don't want to play creatures maindeck so they opponents' removal is dead main and diluted post. The sideboard is super tight, and it wouldn't be my first choice for a slot.

As a more meta answer, you really don't need to know what their hand is for the same reason Miracles doesn't play Probe or Thoughtseize. The deck is packed with versatile answers, and you can make an educated guess and play through what they have. Creatures that blow up Omniscience when they come into play are irrelevant because you can win on the stack, creatures just get Terminused, etc. Just be smart about when to push - if you can hold off for more countermagic and Cunning Wishes, do that. If things are going to get worse for you, then don't.

Did you experience any problems with your mana curve for the Counterbalance lock? 12x CMC 1, 6x CMC 2, 8x CMC 3 and 14x CMC 4+ looks a bit awkward on paper.
Nevertheless I'll try it out anyway. The deck looks fun, traditional Miracles is getting boring and my Show and Tells were rotting in my binder since Dig was banned...

The blind flip percent is worse, no doubt about it. Twos can be tough to find. It's not the best counterbalance curve, but Counterbalance is at its best against combo, Delver, and Miracles. Combo can be divided into storm and Show and Tell, and for both of those it's fine because of a decent number of 1s, and plenty of 3s respectively. Against Delver, you're decent on 1s again, so that's ok. Miracles, the curve hurts against Snapcaster and Counterspell for sure, but you board in many more 1s, and I think the lategame favors you as long as you can keep Mentor off the board. For that, having more 3s is nice.
