WotC just posted the Masterpieces from Aether Revolt. Some very cool art again! Ornithopter and Grindstone are especially cool.

These are very impressive yet again. A couple of them are meh, but most of them have art that is spectacular and better than the original. Also sweet you can now foil out the Painter/Grindstone combo with inventions.

Ornithopter is quite the troll. At least the art is good.

I also love the Sundering Titan art. I'm a sucker for giant robots.

Some other pieces have a somewhat questionable art, though.

Posted by WotC without comment. We should assume it's FtV-style shitty foiling?

I don't see a reason why they'd be different to the last set.

Yeah...

Flavor text keeps talking about confiscating the artifacts presented in the fair. Is that new info or did the story already discuss that in the last set?

It's how the story for the last set finished. My hope is Tez plans to use the Paradoxical Outcome invention to recreate the Weatherlight.

As cool as the concept of an evil Weatherlight sounds in the first moment, it's actually kinda pointless.

Their enemies are walkers who don't need fancy traveling devices and the Weatherlight's sole design goal was to vindicate Yawgmoth's ass into oblivion after collecting all the pieces.

Another home run. I love the masterpiece series to tears. Reprints only, so no one has to chase them, and all gorgeous so they're legitimately worth having. Separate the players from, the collectors and pimpers.

Strangely enough, I was annoyed with foils when they started doing that in Urza's block because I was against premium versions of cards... now I'm older and have a better understanding of economics, and I say, bring on da premium!

After so many years of magic i still haven't figured out where people read the stories of magic sets. Care to share?

I have a ton of old books. The Weatherlight was a ship that at times, transversed Plains. Long and short of it, if that skyship thing doesn't do the same, Tezzeret is a failure both in his new card form and in the story.
