There must be some reason multani's presence isn't used as a Miracles counter. I'm guessing it's because Winter Orb or Choke are more likely to end the game where as Multani's will only give you more food for the fire?

My thinking is that given that anything that isn't an Ambush Viper, Plow, or Terminus is neutered pretty well by presence. It also helps those who run into a chalice (if it comes down before chalice..) since you can just play into it and give everything you have cycling.

Even so, I can get why it may not be run, given that if it only works if it comes down beforehand and not later?

Any other thoughts?

Miracles doesn't actually spend a lot of time countering your stuff before CB comes down, and even then, it's just not a good card on its own and is really really easy to play around.

If you told me I was playing a deck with Green in it and I needed to sideboard against Miracles, why would I ever pick this over Library?

Side note: I really think Sylvan Library is not a card you want to play in the current meta anymore, because of Leovold omnipresence.

On topic: This card is way too narrow and doesn't even really provide a very useful effect. On top of that, it's only going to work if it comes down before Counterbalance. And even if you manage to stick it, you're still down a card without any significant impact on the board. You're much better off playing Abrupt Decay if you didn't already have it. If you want additional effects of that kind, Krosan Grip.

City of Solitude seems like a better use of your time/resources if you're looking for a really niche answer to Countertop. But yeah, I think you kind of answered it yourself: Choke, Winter Orb, etc are all more impactful answers to what Miracles is doing.

One-mana spells are the easiest ones to lock out with CounterTop. If you draw this after CounterTop is assembled, it's a blank. If you play it before, then you can effectively cycle the countered cards, but that needs to draw you either an answer to CounterTop or something with a CMC that can't get hit.

If you're playing this card in the main, you're going to face a majority of matchups where it does nothing. If you're playing this card in the sideboard, it's taking away those slots from cards that actually break up or evade the perma-counter permanent. There's a reason Abrupt Decay is omnipresent and no one plays this card.

When I played Enchantress regularly, I didn't even run this.
