So the idea behind it is pretty simple: a midrange deck focusing on the card advantage generated via SCM/SFM + Felidar Guardian/Saheeli Rai that can eventually combo out.

4 Snapcaster Mage
4 Stoneforge Mystic
3 Felidar Guardian

3 Saheeli Rai

1 Umezawa's Jitte
2 Batterskull

4 Lightning Bolt
4 Swords to Plowshares
4 Force of Will
2 Spell Pierce
1 Flusterstorm
4 Brainstorm
4 Ponder

3 Tundra
3 Volcanic Island
4 Scalding Tarn
4 Flooded Strand
2 Arid Mesa
2 Island
1 Plains
1 Mountain

Delver matchups are pretty much a joke, and it can grind out midrangey decks prety easily. Combo could be a tough one, but at least being able to have an auto win by turn 4 gives it a better chance aggainst them than any other UWR variant.

I want to hate this deck, but it honestly doesn't look that bad. The combo is pretty clunky, and the deck is extremely mana hungry, but the threat of comboing off is powerful in this kind of control shell. The combo pieces aren't even terrible to draw on their own if you another non-land permanent in play. I feel like the sorcery speed nature of it and the fact that it costs 7 mana to assemble in one turn is probably too much, compared to something like shoving Splinter-Twin into the deck.

It needs 2 more lands, probably even 3 more. That would let you shave the Ponders, letting you be more efficient on mana in the early turns.

The reason why blue decks run A+B combos is so that they dont lose to degenerate randomness and still have a lightweight clock package vs Combo and Ramp.

Also, your deck is prone to tapping out quite often. I would recommend Daze and/or Misdrection because of this package.

Don't play Daze in your deck that wants to cast a 3-drop into a 4-drop.

The idea is not to be a combo deck, but a midrange deck that abuses of shaeli for 2x1 wiyh your creatures AND have the ability to comob out!

I think you want -4 SFM, -3 equipment, and +3 Finks, +4 Harsh Mentor/Young Pyromance/Monastery Mentor

I think if you want to run equipment in a deck like this, you need to also run Spellstutter Sprites.

This is the list I've been working on. I've been running Blood Moon as the mana base can tolerate it (but may need to be better refined). This also helps tremendously against 4 color delver/czech pile/Lands/ Eldrazi ect. I think running this as a stoneblade deck with a combo is correct given the amount of value you can generate. I've been thinking about running a legends package by including Venser and in addition to the two Cliques but Blood Moon has been overperforming. Palace Jailer is largely experimental and I have yet to see it in a game after 4 matches but it seems like it has potential. If anyone wants to give this deck a try I highly recommend it. There are a lot of neat synergies (copying batterskull with saheeli, copying stoneforge and using it the same turn, resetting batterskull with Felidar, ect).
