Forcefield vs Jitte

Google searches and Gatherer failed to inform me, so thanks in advance!

Opponent has a TNN equipped with Jitte (2 counters).
I have a Forcefield and an untapped land that taps for mana.

Does Forcefield need :1: pumped into it each time my opponent removes a counter to give TNN +2/+2, or does the :1: paid reduce the power to 1 as damage would be dealt without leaving an additional opportunity to pump the creature?

Forcefield doesn't modify the creature's power, only the amount of damage that the creature deals in the combat damage step. You pay 1 and choose the attacking TNN and then it only deals 1 to you no matter how many times they pump it or how much power it has.
