Ok so my opponent has a chalice of the void on one.
I want to use illusionary mask to put phyrexian dreadnought into play face down.
If I pay 1 mana is dreadnought countered? If I choose to pay 2 mana is dreadnought countered?

I'm gonna say that the CMC is 0 just as a morph creature would be. See the following Counterbalance-and-Morph (http://www.mtgthesource.com/forums/showthread.php?18014-Counterbalance-and-Morph). Since the gather rulings indicate the card would effectively be a morph creature in play I couldn't imagine it being any different on the stack. "While the creature card is face down, it’s a 2/2 creature with no name, mana cost, color, creature type, abilities, or expansion symbol. Since it has no mana cost, its converted mana cost is 0."

@apple713 has it correct, no matter how much you funnel into Mask, the cmc is zero. This card is regularly discussed on the Dreadstill forum if you want to read more about it @Fallen_Empire.
