I used to play reanimator for a long time in 1.5.
however, it prooved to not be good enough, at least the build i had, so i abandoned it for a while.
however, i recently saw it in the top 8 in the 9/10 open mana leak tournament
so i took it out again
my decklist is
Creatures to Reanimate
4 akroma, angel of wrath
4 phantom nishoba
2 spirit of the night
creatures to graveyard spells
4 careful study
4 putrid imp
3 buried alive
2 sickening dreams
reanimate spells
4 reanimate
4 exhume
2 animate dead
misc spells
3 mystical tutor
3 duress
land
12 swamp
4 underground river
2 watery grave
1 polluted delta
1 island
1 tainted isle
as you can tell, i am on a budget mana-base wise
i also think i need to revise the mystical tutors/duresses
all feedback is appreciated

I myself ran reanimator for a long time a few years ago too. After extensive testing it really needs Dark Rits.
I dont recommend Chrome Mox as because many times i draw first turn Mox it did not help as much as Dark Rits in place of it. Also first turn Rits = first turn Exhumes.
Another suggestion is try running Simic Sky Swallower x4 instead of Spirit of the Night and Phantom Nishoba. Even though Spirit has haste I personally would wouldn't want my creature to be bolted or blue returned to my hand.
I hope that helps if anymore questions I'm the man to ask for reanimator.
P.S. Reanimate Dead doesnt stay on Akroma.

So, when you play Animate Dead, you follow the steps that it says to do as much as able...

Easy enough...
Put target creature card from a graveyard into play under your control and attach Animate Dead to it.
So, Akroma comes back into play. Animate Dead, however, cannot be attached to the creature as the card instructs; as such, it never attaches. Note that Akroma is a legal target when it's in the graveyard, as protection doesn't do anything when a creature isn't in play.
Enchanted creature gets -1/-0.
Since it never gets attached, this never happens.
When Animate Dead leaves play, destroy enchanted creature. It can't be regenerated.
When Animate Dead finishes resolving, it doesn't have a creature attached to it, so there is no creature to enchant.
There you go, you now have an Akroma in play without Animate Dead attached to it.
 That is now a good thing.
