In chrome, i just push Ctrl + scroll down until image fits. to get it back to 100% push Ctrl + 0.

This should work for firefox and IE. I need to play with my new phone to see how to do this on a mobile device.

In all seriousness, curling does happen, but it depends on where you live and how your take care of your cards. I live on the East Coast of Canada, right on the ocean, so I experience high humidity (especially in the summer). I keep my cards in Perfect Fits and KMCs, and keep them nice and snug in deckboxes. Curling hasn't been an issue for me at all.

I live in Houston, which is essentially a giant swamp. Part of what I do is actually carry around a bunch of spare perfect fits on me so that whenever I acquire any foils, I immediately put them into a perfect fit to help keep the humidity out.

I also store my foils in a box with a couple of those silica packets (the ones you aren't supposed to eat that you get with new shoes) and those help keep any humidity out of the box as well.

I'd say about even really. Power UNL in decent condition is only about $5,000 (... "only"). The rest is fairly cheap compared to those.

i would say every pimped deck can easily hit 75x100$ when its vintage or legacy. they can easily exceed 20.000$, even without summercards in them. also possible to more than 40.000$

The Port was stated by the seller as NM and by the closer look I found some really annoying scratches/dots on the surface of the card. You can see the pictures below. The back side is also SP, not NM. I will keep the card anyway, but I think I'm gonna ask the seller for some compensation. How much do you think I'm rightful to ask for? Considering that my winning bid was 208 $. Thanks for you advice!

Well, 208 usd for a jap foil Port was a very good closing bid if it was NM, as in europe they go for 250 eur each which is roughly 300$. In that condition, I'd value the card at 2/3rd of the closing price,so 140$ maybe? I'd ask for 70$ back. C'mon, is not that is some minor scratches on the back. The picture peeled off and you can see the bottom foiling layer.

Grats on the sexy pickup. On the other side of it, Star City knocks like 10% off or something like that from NM to SP, so that seems fair to me. I'd get something back, but honestly I don't know how much. It's all about what you two can agree on and you not feeling screwed over.

Keep in mind too that this was the first full production of foils disbursed in boosters. There were a higher frequency of foil-cut lines and other printing errors.

Well.. after a long time in the mail, those finally came back to me :)
Though I am extremely grateful that he did sign them, this wasn't the nicest experience I had with an artist. Getting them back with four different signatures and in a (at least I think so) slightly worse condition doesn't help, too.
But oh well, I got them back, so that counts ;D

Of course you can. Also, REB from alpha is unplayable. Interrupts are strictly enforced.

Ditto! Here in Halifax, there is a group of 10-12 people who have interest, but only have Revised duals. We've added Revised as a whole, just to ease the cost of entry.

Here in Toronto we will allow any reprint in order to have enough players. If you can organize a tournament in Hallifax I will definitely come to play it. 93/94 format is way more fun than Type 1.

I think that our homepage might explain it but basicly there is no "real" reason why Revised shouldn't be allowed. The creators have choosen not to allow it simply because of the "pimp"-factor. They wanted more of an old-school format and I personaly hate the look of rev-duals but I can definatly understand why people choose to play with them.

Here in Toronto we will allow any reprint in order to have enough players. If you can organize a tournament in Hallifax I will definitely come to play it. 93/94 format is way more fun than Type 1.

Picked up some cute none foil japanese cabal therapies yesterday.

The player was a foreign exchange student from japan. His trade was full of beta duals, 2x english seals, + other high end stuff. I asked if any was for sale or trade. He said no, but I asked if I could see. He told me they might be fake.
Back story, I had a buddy run into the same guy a few weeks back. Ended up getting a moat, seal, sea and some other stuff from him. Upon further inspection, we found out they were fake, luckily he got all his stuff back * I might have told this story*

The Japanese player bought a collection for a decent chunk of cash * he didn't specify total price* in japan.

So, continuing with the story, we continued talking. I pulled out my beta stuff, and the unlimited/beta power I had with me * the stuff I'm selling for a buddy* and we started comparing. You could easily tell the difference once you see a real card. * I knew right away, they were all dark prints and semi low res stuff* Everything * 30+ beta duals, power, moats, seals, etc* ended up being fake.

Funny thing was I compared my beta scrubland to his, he held both in hand and said he could tell the difference, then places both down on the table, the fake more towards me implying that's my scrubland, and the other towards him. I obviously noticed and switched them around. I imagine on accident, but still sketchy.

On a serious note, I might be picking up a beta ex volcanic island soon. :)

I never have any cards worthy of this thread but since people post playmats, sleeves, and similar, I figured that some of you could appreciate these.

I included both the image used to advertise them as well as a poorly lit picture taken from my iPhone. Neither of which do them justice in person.

Sorry to intrude, but if you have the card in a more recent edition I would suggest to use a high quality proxy done with a color printer in order to not ruin the "nostalgia" factor. This is the direction we are heading to in Toronto.

Proxies seem more anti nostalgia than revised dual lands. Most of us who were playing back then had revised duals, and it is probably more nostalgic to play with those than with the beta dual lands that I own.

There are other ways to bleach a card that will destroy certain colors, but leave black untouched. I have no clue what ink is used to print Mtg cards, but I'm pretty sure you can destroy the chromophore with relatively common reduction/oxidation agents.

Put said card inside a sleeve, rub the back against a table edge or counter top while bending the card backwards to remove curl.

Double sleeving, storing foil cards in binders that close flat or simply packing inside tight deck boxes with rest of the sideboard will prevent them from curling.

Not necessarily. Fumigating the card with mild oxidizing agents in low concentration (so heat won't damage the card) might do wonders here. If I have the time I'll do some experiments next time I'm in the lab. If by sunbleaching you mean by UV (a UV lamp will be much more efficient than good ol' sun), then yes, that could be possible. I don't want to go into the details here (pm me if you're interested), but depending on the pigments that are used exposure to UV can completely remove a certain color, or even cause a colorshift.

Silica gel packets. Leave the cards in loose (penny) sleeves and keep a packet or two in the box to absorb the enivornmental moisture. Foil cards will warp with warm and moist climate.

Forcing the card to unwarp with pressure alone will damage the card gradually.

I also put any of my foil cards into perfect fit sleeves as soon as I get them and store them in the perfect fits.

As others have mentioned, foils warp because the cardboard side absorbs moisture and expands while the foil metallic side does not.

Putting them in sleeves immediately helps keep moisture away from the card.

Also love the korean wastelands, finally completed my playset of korean wastelands a few weeks ago. So now wastelanding people is really fun.

Yes. I lost to Jace after destroying all of U/W mans non-jace permanents and having him punt the miracle mechanic. I couldn't get a threat through the fateseal and the 3 FoWs he had in hand.

My feeling was I'd be eating my yard with homeboy and thus Goyf would be sub-optimal (plus who isn't tired of playing the same old stupid creatures?). He was game over when he stuck and didn't take up agriculture ... but the same can be said of any huge man. Doran is a beast. There was a berserk deck floating around in the room that would have been quite sad to see him as well.

Finally picked up a Japanese Foil Flooded Strand for Zur, so now, I just need the Delta before I can start going crazy and starting to summer it out. (actually crazy)

This is proving difficult, as essentially bulk Japanese foil commons aren't something many people have, and if they do, they don't want to search them for me :/

Sorry about the stupid question.

I just got back into magic, and decided to build a legacy deck since it reminded me of the deckmasters (finkel vs garfield) tin I had as a kid.
So now im piecing together a junk deck mostly revised and ice age cards with worthless cards like a Japanese dark ritual being the most valuable card in it :P
That or hymn to tourach both are worth less than $0.50!

I know im better off playing draft or standard on a budget but the new cards don't have the same nostalgic feeling I get from looking at them.

also is that a wild growth revised card? I passed that up! someone offered it to me for free but I already was given a number of basic lands (3 forest, 2 swamp) and I didn't want to seem too greedy

Less than $50 is quite hard, the only deck that you could get below 50 would be burn, and even that is a stretch :P

Some Mono-Green deck could be fun aswell, with Rancors and Dungrove Elders

Those are spare cards. Also, the Karakas' are the proper language, there are absolutely zero english cards in my T.E.S. (It's why I don't have foil Lotus Petals).

I'm fine with my choice of Duress. I first opted to get them because they were the first set I could find, but they've grown on me. Plus, I've already got them signed.

i cant confirm whos sig it is. i know who has the original art of wasteland, but i never asked to see the signature. also, that is not my wasteland, i have a signed one too but about mine i´m 100% sure its not frickers signature. the owner of this one claims it is fricker signed, last person to confirm will be markers, and yes, it says indeed "die! die! die!"

I think rather than posting photos he should make a documentary of how he acquired the whole collection.

T-Chinese foils aren't cool in new or old. S-Chinese was great until fifth dawn if I recall correctly when they did away with the bold font present on those amazing fetchlands last page.
