FNM or Duel Deck foil for Cystalline Sliver? I assume FNM but I'm not sure how older frame FNM foils deal in the long term.

These were signed this past weekend in Seattle area. The signing involved ~2 years of communication with all parties involved. About ~10 people had cards signed by him at a fee per card. This batch will probably be the last cards signed by him for the foreseeable future if not forever.

I put my signed Alpha set in there...

+ Saves a lot of space
+ Looks gorgeous
- Cannot double sleeve cards
- Only holds 480 cards

Not every card is produced in the same factory. Foreign sets are typically also printed in locations closer to the point of sale. Thus, there is a slight variation of the finished product between printings/sets/editions/languages/foiling. That is another likely cause why some languages take the to the ink better than others.

Atleast it wasn't on the balance! HAHA! I traded off the petal to a friend. I originally gave up on metallics because of the explosion factor, so now I don't take the chance. Now the black just looks better to me.

Yeah. Same date. One is a 4 hour drive and I get to drink and eat BBQ. One is a giant plane ticket and ... uh Bryan Adams. The artists are a wash, guy who did Thalia, Resto and Metamorph in Vancouver or guy who did Wurmcoil, Vengevine, Arid Mesa, Ugin and some random cool legends in Memphis.

You may also want to look into other kinds with different ink formulas. Industrial and Super Sharpie come to mind.

These aren't 4th Edition basics. My guess is they are 5th Edition. Japanese was first printed in 4th Edition and as is policy WoTC printed it in black border.

I think those ARE 4th actually. Japanese had a small run of 4th in both BB and WB. (I've seen a couple others posted elsewhere, just crazy rare)

Korean and Chinese Fourth Edition cards have been made only with black borders while Japanese, Portuguese, and Spanish cards exist with white and black borders.

Not a chance. Either the game is dead or Alpha Black Lotus is 10-15% more than now or even more if vintage takes off with MOL. Foil JTMS isn't going to be worth close to it. He'll be reprinted in Wal Mart by then. Actually he'll probably get a foiling in FTV: 20 since he pretty much owned standard that year.

Me, nope. But then again, Pimp in the eye of the beholder. Just like miscuts, language choice, foil vs non-foil, signed, altered, promo, set, etc...
My personal favorite (and only) chase pimps are non-foil Japanese signed by artist cards. Japanese has the most beautiful artistic form of language. Foils got the banhammer for me when i got "too" bend foils that caused me a game loss during a tournament.

All the creatures are foil and in S-Chinese except for 1 Deathrite Shaman (I'm keeping this English foil signed because it was given to me by someone really close to me), a nonfoil S-Chinese Dryad Arbor (can't find 1 more foil), and 2 Nonfoil S-Chinese Birchlore Rangers (no luck finding)

For the lands and spells, it's pretty much done for now. I had a really good deal for Onslaught S-Chinese fetchlands but I had to pass it over because of school. My LGS was able to buy a box of S-chinese box for me though and I pulled a couple Khan fetches so I guess they have to do for now...

The SB is complete except for 3 S-Chinese foil Abrupt Decays. Not really hard to find if you know where to look, i'm just poor because of school.

Here, have an Ä to write properly :). It is "Der Ärger".
The translation of both cards it pretty good in my opinion. Sure, "Vernichter" sounds a bit tacky and the card name just sounds weird, but this is caused by the English original. The interesting thing about Angers translation is that they have added the article "Der" (which would be "The Anger" in English). They probably wanted to make it more clear, that it is a representation of the emotion. They have done the same in the French and Italian translation, but not in Spanish and Portugese. I wonder why the translation differ in this way.

Agreed. My favorite card condition is the one you can only get by playing without sleeves on a picnic table at summer camp. Maybe you can chalk it up as nostalgia, but whatever.

MKM is full of bad sellers, even "professional" ones. So far I haven't had any issues with wrong languages (because I usually ask for scans, if I didn't I would had already bought some foil traditional Chinese cards listed as simplified), but I'm constantly having issues with people that pretend to sell their played cards as near mint.

I once got an Alpha Mox that was listed as Beta. It was nice :)

I like it to much that I decided to make my own copy of it. Back in the day I lacked the cards but I still put something together
I was working toward completing it slowly but immigrating to Canada I ran out of money and I had to sell all my cards to eat (including the Beta power).
I always thought that one day when I would get back on my feet I would complete a "jeffisridiculous". It did not take me long to do well in Canada but I never took the time to complete it until today.

I may mean nothing to everybody else but this is a small personal victory which represent recovery after hard times. I never knew who was Jeff. I wonder if he is still around. And now much of an inspiration it was for me to keep on moving forward.

A lot of people here either:
A) Make enough that they have a lot of discretionary income
B) Bought in a long time ago and leverage the cards that have gained substantial value over the years to purchase Pimp

The best place to buy pimp was Magic Online Traders League (MOTL) but it is largely defunct now. Generally, the best places to buy are MKM (Magic Kard Market, Europe only), the Facebook group High End Magic, or at GPs/large events.

I may mean nothing to everybody else but this is a small personal victory which represent recovery after hard times. I never knew who was Jeff. I wonder if he is still around. And now much of an inspiration it was for me to keep on moving forward.

Small story: The first time I saw a pimp deck it was "jeffisridiculous". It was not in a pimp thread but in a tournament report for something that was still called Type I back in the day.
The year was 2003 and this deck won a Mox Ruby, mostly thanks to Tinker/Masticore (I cannot find the report anymore...maybe it was posted on TheManaDrain). I liked that silly deck and I liked that somehow it won.
I like it to much that I decided to make my own copy of it. Back in the day I lacked the cards but I still put something together
I was working toward completing it slowly but immigrating to Canada I ran out of money and I had to sell all my cards to eat (including the Beta power).
