Card Explanations:
Lands: I run 7 fetches so I can consistently get double black on turn 2 and still get double white on turn 4. I run the 5 basics to deal with wasteland in game one, but wasteland still sucks :frown: .

Serra Avenger: This card is just so great. 3/3 Flying Vigilance for 2 is so good. She flies over blockers on land and can be a great defensive tool as well.

Jagged Poppet: Great synergy with Jotun Grunt and The Rack. He's also a 3/4 for 3. With hellbent he basically keeps opponents hands down forcing them to either play the cards they draw or discard them.

Jotun Grunt: 4/4 for 2 mana. Rarely dies to cumulative upkeep before the game ends because of the discard/burn i play. Also great with poppet.

Duress/Hymn/Verdict: The discard. Completely empties their hands between the 3 of them. I love these things. Using Verdict to discard your lands to gain life is pretty tech if their hand happens to be empty.

Swords to Plowshares: Auto-include in any aggro-control with white.

Bolt/Helix: Kills creatures, allows me to burn out opponents for a kill a turn faster, and gives me reach. Helix also provides me with some life gain to counteract the life loss from all the fetches.

The Rack: Brings down an opponent so fast with discard/poppet. Multiples of these are amazing. Provides reach as well.

Plauge: GG to goblins and elves.

Pyroclasm: Good vs goblins and other aggro decks this deck is weak against.

Pithing Needle: Good vs goblins and wasteland in general.

Defense Grid: Couldn't think of anything for this slot. Just decided Defense Grid as something to come in place of StP against counter-based control.

Match-ups:
I haven't done much testing as I just recently created this deck. I basically had thresh/gobs/combo in mind as I was making this deck. Jotun Grunt + Discard basically owns thresh, but then again, it's hard to say if a deck is favorable against thresh without extensive testing. The sideboard pretty much dominates goblins. Discard completely destroys most combo decks. Those were my initial thoughts. We'll see what happens after I do some testing.
