What happens when I remand a spell after that spells controller plays Determined? Is it an illegal target, and if not, does the card go to the GY or your hand?

Counter target spell. If that spell is countered this way, put it into its owner's hand instead of into that player's graveyard.
Draw a card.

I don't think you can even target the spell with Remand.

As far as I know, it's a legal target, the spell simply won't be countered. You'll still draw for Remand though.

it IS a spell, so it is a legal target for Remand. When remand resolves, it will try to counter the spell and fail in doing so, then you will draw a card.

Correct. The target is completely legal for Remand. The "If that spell is countered this way" will be negative, therefore Remand won't put the spell back in the owner's hand unless it successfully counters it. This by no means causes Remand to fail. It resolves as normal and you draw a card.

What happens? You slap yourself for not playing Remand on the Determined or countering it in some other way, the Remand doesn't counter the spell, but that spell is still a legal target, and you draw a card from the Remand.

Except you don't want to Remand Determined if you run Remand and Determined in the same deck and you're the one casting Determined.

EDIT: Although you might want to Remand your Determined should they try to counter the Determined. Sneaky Ninja Shit.
