I got my friend to start playing legacy a few years ago... he played casual before, but did not expect the unusual competativeness. He started off just borrowing my decks, until he decided to become more independant; he wanted something he could call his own. He discovered LFTL (life from the loam), and became obsessed with the loam mechanic. He played confinement, slide, and occasionally a combo build lent out to him; he wanted something he could call his own though. We started rough drafting together until we came up with a new life deck... this is his build

What's the advantage of using Goblin Trenches over, say, Seismic Assault? Trenches just seems slower, more mana intensive, and more disruptable. Anti-synergy abounds (Goblin tokens vs. Slice and Dice; sideboard Pyroclasm). Devastating Dreams should definately find a place in either the main or sideboard (to be Wished for).

This is not assault, we cannot afford trip red at any point in the game... as for the board sweepers being dis-synergistic, they are threre to clear the way for our wincons... goblin trenches continuously produces the tokens, as well as the damage becoming cumulative... the same goes for devastating dreams, we need lands as well, and we cannot afford to discard all of the lands/ cards in our hand to disrupt the board... we can already do that (humility + 5 board sweepers, that's saying we do not recur a board sweeper).

This just looks like piece of crap rifter wannabe. It has anti synergy in many of the cards played. Tell your friend to stick to builds premade or go back to casual.

Paying RRR isn't that hard to pay. You have 7 red mana sources to fetch for.
Devastating Dreams isn't only usefull against aggro with humility, but it's very good against combo, which is your worst matchup.

I already tried trenches with LFTL and it sucks compared with seismic assault because you can kill your opponent's creatures effectively. ^_^

Well this is his deck, so I could not begin to argue all of his card choices/reasonings... Hey maybe if we took out the entire list, then added someone else's list... yeah I think I may be on to something here; yeah we could have seismic assault, devastating dreams, and zombie infestations  . Or not!!!!! because this is not combo loam deck; he's played that build against me before (nasty little bugger, annoying as hell... with squees and the such). this is his crappy control deck & should be treated as such. This is not my deck, I do not pilot loam decks period; I just made this for my friend on his behalf... You guys should really consider giving it a try...
It is not a crappy rifter wannabe, do you see lightning rift? Do you see dragon?
do you see all of the random cyclers? No you do not, therefore this is not a rifter deck... It plays just as slow though.

If you're not posting the deck here for the purposes of improving it (ie. taking on board peoples' suggestions), what's the point of posting it?
You guys should really consider giving it a try...It's your (or your friend's) job to test it and tell us how good it is, not the other way around. It just looks like you're advertising a new deck you (or your friend) have created without any intention of wanting to improve it. Generally, that's not the point of these forums.
Seismic Assault is leagues better than Goblin Trenches in this style of deck. That's the general concensus from people trying to help you. Take it or leave it.
