From what I've seen from this deck, it rocks most any aggro deck (no pun intended) I'm not sure how it would do against combo, but theres alot of hand disruption so that should help (plus haunting echoes), not much straight control out there so I'm not really worried about that. heres my build. BTW its kinda budget but its not that bad since its good against wastelands and such.

creatures
2x eternal dragon
3x krosan tusker
2x grave-shell scarab
3x sakura tribe elder

spells
3x wrath of god
3x pernicious deed
4x duress
4x hymn to tourack
3x gerrard's verdict
3x vindicate
2x haunting echoes
4x stp
3x sensei's divining top

land
8x forest
7x swamp
6x plains

sideboard
4x engineered plague
4x leyline of the void
3x pithing needle
4x naturalize

So other than the mana base, what else do you guys see? Any thoughts?

see Truffle Shuffle (http://mtgthesource.com/forums/showthread.php?t=3816).

Yeah, this is pretty much a suboptimal version of Truffle Shuffle.

In general the combo matchup isn't too good because your clock is glacial and therefore they have time to recover from Hymns et al.

yeah i saw his decklist, its card for card the same as the "thunder bluff" deck i in some tourament report on the wizards site, anyways i thought sensei's is too slow, as well as the fact that the deck had too many big win conditions.

Truffle Shuffle is a much better version of this deck's premise. Top is the heart and soul of the deck, becaue you have so many shuffle options and it finds basically anything, and I [who plays Truffle Shuffle religiously, except in the face of degenerate 2-card combos] have frequently referred to it as the deck's win condition. As far as "too many big win conditions," many people have said that the deck does in fact not have enough, but with so much control you really don't need any more than Truffle Shuffle has, and the creatures that it plays are very tough to remove.

You are running a highly suboptimal mana base with zero fetches and zero duals, which are 100% necessary in a three-colour control deck, and zero Swords to Plowshares or Condemn, which means that you better have your figers crossed really hard against Goblins.

In short, play Truffle Shuffle.

No, 'that Thunder Bluff deck' is card for card the same as Elgin's Truffle Shuffle, which you'll notice hit the scene much before Abold placed with it at GenCon. Abold just called it something different.

the deck has 4 stp maindeck, i just forgot them when copying the deck here, it only had 56 cards when you posted.

also i wasn't saying anyone copied anything, just that i had seen the deck.

when i said it had too many big win conditions it was because they are so hard to get rid of, that you may not need as many.

anyways im thinking about speeding the deck up, maybe a legacy version of flow rock or something, but I'm not sure how it will fare against goblins.

And if you read the first couple sentences, as well as the last sentence in the first post, I stated that it was kinda budget, thats why the manabase is weak.

Honestly, that deck can't really work with those "budget" lands. Rav duals and fetches maybe, but it needs way more consistency than you will get out of those.

He should atleast run that land that fetches basics, terraform something, God I have no idea what bad cards are named and I'm happy I don't...

You're thinking of Terramorphic Expanse, and a three-colour deck really needs its duals to function. If you need a budget deck, try Boros. Flow Rock will be too slow to properly make an impact on legacy, I think, because attacking lands at that stage in the game will be a lose-more strategy.

I've never really understood the purpose of drumming up 'budget' lists for new decks. I figure that if you're in the theoretical stage, put in all the expensive stuff. You want the deck to be good, not affordable. At least not right at first, anyway. When you start building it, you might consider some budget pieces, but while you're still building and testing (on MWS or with proxies or whatever), you should use the strongest cards available.

I'll forgive the use of all basics if you use IMPERIOSAUR. With all basics, you might as well run IMPERIOSAUR anyway. The use of basics lets you get around Wasteland and also run IMPERIOSAUR. I really enjoy typing IMPERIOSAUR.

It's a fucking dinosaur.

I'm a bigger fan of always getting around Blood Moon, but that doesn't matter because you can also run IMPERIOSAUR.
