From reading IBA's post in the Adept forum, it got me thinking of U/B Fish. I wanted a way to update my listand I think focusing more on counterbalance would be a good step. It totally rocked in Sadin's deck and I think counterbalance can be a great card. So here is the list I am working with.

Lands
4 Polluted Delta
2 Flooded Strand
4 Underground Sea
4 Island
2 Swamp
4 Wasteland

Creatures
4 Dark Confidant
4 Phyrexian Negator
3 Tombstalker
3 Trinket Mage

Pump
3 Umezawa's Jitte

Control
4 Counterbalance
4 Force of Will
2 Stifle

Draw/Manipulation
4 Brainstorm
4 Lim-Duls Vault
3 Sensei's Diving Top

Toolbox
1 Pithing Needle
1 Engineered Explosives

Sideboard
4 Engineered Plague
4 Diabolic Edict
4 Tormod's Crypt
2 Darkblast
1 Pithing Needle

Card Choices

Fetches- thins out the deck and adds to the graveyard for the creatures.
Couloured Lands- to play stuff.
Wasteland- works for the land destruction package with stifle.

Dark Confidant- the draw is really good. Insane.
Tombstalker- I needed a good finisher and FS brought it to me.
Negator- A killer beater. I like beaters
Trinket Mage- grabs Top and allows for a toolbox.

Umezawa's Jitte- perfect for the deck with the life gain and killing gobs. The deck needs life gain from Confidant.

Counterbalance- a great card. Allows for reusable countering and with top is just a beast.
FoW- free counter
Stifle- all around great card and fits the LD package.

Brainstorm- good draw and manipulation so I don't die to confidant.
Vault- I wanted a way to abuse such a powerful card. Aloows me to stack cards and just find things.
Top- helps for some many things. Balance, confidant, and just draw.

Toolbox- just helps out random things like SotF or wiping out some mongeese.

Dark confidant is horrible here: 4 Negators, 4 Tombstalkers, 4 Force of Wills.
Add more cantrips or another creature instead is what i think.

personally i'll go on a more controlish basis by cutting 4 wasteland and adding 4 daze, or two stifle and 2 cantrip. Why ? cause with only 4 land destroy hability card, and producing colorless mana, , the LD strategie isn't viable. If you want to go a bit LD, then run a least 8 LD spell.

This is not a combo deck. Lim-Dul's Vault is terrible here.

Here's the list I've had for quite a while. It's a lot more controlling, which I believe to be the correct direction to bring the deck towards (Factories > Negator).

4 [4E] Mishra's Factory
4 [ON] Polluted Delta
2 [ON] Flooded Strand
5 [UNH] Island
1 [MR] Seat of the Synod
1 [UNH] Swamp
4 [PR] Underground Sea

// Creatures
4 [RAV] Dark Confidant
3 [FD] Trinket Mage
2 [FUT] Tombstalker

// Spells
3 [PR] Counterspell
4 [PR] Force of Will
4 [PR] Brainstorm
2 [BOK] Umezawa's Jitte
3 [CS] Counterbalance
2 [CHK] Sensei's Divining Top
1 [SOK] Pithing Needle
1 [FD] Engineered Explosives
3 [NE] Daze
4 [OD] Ghastly Demise
3 [FD] Serum Visions

// Sideboard
