I am trying to verify some data that I have found about Legacy tournaments (50+ players). This is what I have -

TLR MMG - Canegrate (MI) (http://www.germagic.de/dc/event.php?event=TLR+MMG+-+Canegrate+%28MI%29)

I have no clue where this tournament was held. Is there anyone who could help verify any information about this tournament?

Vooral Vaardig GP Columbus Tournament (http://www.germagic.de/dc/event.php?event=Vooral+Vaardig+GP+Columbus+Tournament)

Apparently there were 7 rounds of Swiss in this tournament with at least Top8 provided, but again I am not sure where it occured again? Somewhere in Germany I am betting, but I wasn't able to find the information in the listing or the associated thread.

The following are the links I use most of often for the Historical Top8 thread -

Isherlohn (German Monthly) (http://web17.accelerated.de/turniere/index.htm)

Ancient Memory Convention (Japanese Monthly) (http://f18.aaa.livedoor.jp/~nameless/AMC/index_e.html)

Italian data (http://www.tipo1.it/forum/viewtopic.php?t=113)
Other useful sites include -

GerMagic.de (http://www.germagic.de/dc/format.php?format=Legacy)

Morphling.de (http://www.morphling.de/top8archives.php?format=2)

The first tournament was held near Milan; TLR stands for The Legacy Returns.

Also, during the search I found this 46-player Top 8 (http://www.magicfriends.net/forum/viewtopic.php?p=73990#73990) that might interest you. Most of the lists are in Italian, but the decks are:

1) UGW Thresh (classic Predict list with Goyf instead of Bears)
2) Trinket Angel port
3) Sutured Ghoul Reanimator (decklist in English)
4) 43 Lands
5) UG Madness
6) Ichorid (decklist in English)
7) Boros
8) Faerie Stompy

Both tourneys are monthly events; AFAIK there are about half a dozen shops in northern Italy that hold monthly Legacy tournaments.

Is there any link you can send me that verifies that tournament was held in Milan? If you are sure that it is I can take your word (which I don't mean to doubt). Its just good to have a link to complete information.

We only use tournaments with at least 50 players. So I wouldn't be interested in that tournament, though it looks like an interesting Top8.

Vooral vaardig was a GP: Columbus trial. It had an attendance of about 130 people. It was held in the Netherlands.

I found a much better link: this (http://www.tipo1.it/forum/viewtopic.php?t=113) thread records all 16+ player Top 8s, including size, date, location, and number of players - including any relevant link (announcements, tournament reports, etc.). Most information is in English, too.

Unfortunately it seems almost all the tournaments featured 30-40 players - including the Canegrate event (according to the link, there were 54 pre-registered players, but only 49 showed up). The only 50-people event on that page was held in March.

I guess that answers the question for that tournament. However the 50 person tournment should be added. I'm starting to think that there are enough large legacy tournaments in Europe that we should ask Source members in those countries to help Anwar out. Lukas Preuss seems to cover the German tournies but there could be many in other countries not being reported.

Since I'm fluent in French I've been asking around for the decklists of past Legacy events in France (http://www.legacy-france.com/Quelquun-aurait-il-les-decklist-des-evenements-t946.html) but have been unable to get them due to a lack of organization. However for future events in France I should be able to have them (http://www.legacy-france.com/MC-30-06-07-t960.html)and translate them(if necessary).

EDIT: WTF Thunderbluff is in many of the TOP 8's !!!!
EDIT 2: Never mind what they call "Thunderbluff" is a Rockish deck closer to Truffle Shuffle

It was held in Utrecht. I can't supply you with much additional information, but I can link you to some topics on the Dutch legacy forum. They obviously are in dutch tough.

Oh man I wish I knew about that tournament, since Utrecht is only one hour with the train for me.

Then again, having no time to playtest and not updating my decks for over half a year would not have resulted in anything good.

I'm trying to figure out how all this will work out. This is what I have

TLR MMG - Canegrate (MI) -

Date: 13/05/2007
Location: Canegrate (MI)
Number of Players: 49
Top8
1 - Newage Thunderbluff
2 - Landstill
3 - Affinity
4 - Landstill
5 - Burn (sligh)
6 - 4c Aggro
7 - Italian Solution RGW
8 - Burning Rock
Link

Al via pre-iscritti 54 persone, giocanti 49 persone… 6 turni svizzera + top8

Since my Italian abilities are limited. I can only guess that 49 people ended up playing in this event. This tournament would not be included in our list of tournaments.

I did find another tournament on the same page that was provided.

Date: 25/3/2007
Location: Finale Emilia (MO)
Number of Players: 50
Top 8
1 - Boros
2 - Aluren
3 - Goblin Rw
4 - Landstill UB
5 - Angel Stompy
6 - 43 Lands
7 - Goblin Rw
8 - 4c Landstill
Link
Deck Breakdown
Report

From a basic Wikipedia I find that Finale Emilia is a is comune in the Province of Modena. So would it be incorrect to say something like Finale Emilia, Italy? My understanding is that Finale Emilia is a close appromixation for a city and the Province of Modena is like a state. If anyone can help here I would appreciate it. I can include this tournament since it does have 50 players as well as T8 decklists.

From what I can tell the T8 lists are there. Since we have location it seems that definitely at least 50 people were there. One of the reports puts it at 131 players. Can anyone verify this for me? Otherwise I guess it would be close to correct. So I should be able to add this tournament as well.

Hey, i just got back from an exchange year in Italy, so I can help you here. Comune could either be a town or a city, it designates a local administrative area. But yeah, we'd just call it a city. Provincia is the italian equivalent of county, they call their "states" regioni. But yeah, I'd probably just put it by Commune and Italy, as commune would be the name of the town.

<quote>Al via pre-iscritti 54 persone, giocanti 49 persone… 6 turni svizzera + top8 </quote>

BTW, this means "pre-regged 54, 49 playing, 6 rounds swiss and cut to top 8" so it wouldn't be included due to too few players.

Italy is divided into 20 regioni, each of which contains on average a half-dozen provincie, each of which contains lots of comuni. There are about 8000 comuni in Italy, of pretty much any size (Rome is a single comune, just like the most backwater hamlet).

Location should usually be written "Finale Emilia (MO), Italy". MO is the province code, which is enough to tell you roughly where the comune is if you aren't familiar with it. On a foreign website, I'd prefer to write "Finale Emilia, Modena, Italy".

I've updated the opening post to include most of the links that I use to add material to the Historical Top 8 thread. There were no American links as there is no setup monthly tournament, but most of the material usually gets posted somewhere on this site anyway.

If anyone has any other sites that regularly report Legacy information feel free to post it here or to pm me. Any and all help is appreciated.

A 56 person Legacy tournament was held in Italy last Sunday. I've posted about it in the Top4 & Top8 thread.

Decklists are in Italian, I can translate them if anyone's interested.

It seems the metagame was a bit twisted, there apparently were only a couple of Threshold decks, but a fuckton of Landstill.

If you are willing to translate the lists, I will use the information for the Historical Top 8 thread. The usual information that I need is

Name of Event
City, Country (or state in the case of US)
Date
Top 8 decklists
Number of players (this is preferred, but not required as long it can be verified that it was over 33 players)

I've been made aware of a few other tournaments. The first two look to be from Spain and the final one is from France, but I don't have location information.

First Spanish one

Second Spanish one

French one

If anyone can help with finding out more about these tournaments please contact me. If you have a link to city, country information please feel free to post. Any and all relevant information is appreciated.

The first Spanish tourney was held at the Casal de la Juventud (youth centre) of Petrer. You can Wiki that up... it's in the Alicante province.

The second one was held at La Universidad de las Artes Lúdicas ("The University of Gaming Arts"), a store in Madrid. The Psychatog list that made Top 8 is incredibly ballsy.
Their store blog (http://launiversidaddelasartesludicas.blogspot.com/) also has most of the Top 8 decklists from the Legacy event at PT: Valencia.

The French tournament is one of many held at MC, a store in Paris. There are more recent ones as well, the tournament report page is here (http://www.legacy-france.com/Reports-f32.html).
EDIT: Heh, turns out it's the forum Maveric87f hangs out at. I suppose in the future we could ask him ;)

I would like to request that any who would like to help with the Historical T8 thread to please post any links to information about tournaments with 33+ players in this thread. It is difficult to try to jump through different threads to find the relevant data, especially when we have as many tournaments as we had this month. I'm trying to make sure that the thread is as useful and meaningful as possible. Even if the data is already posted on the source somewhere else, please create a post and make a link to it in this thread. This will help me and probably make the Historical T8 thread much more accurate.

I would like to thank everyone who has been sending in decklists and tournament data especially for foreign tournaments. The Historical Top 8 thread really wouldn't be possible without all of your help.

One last thing, if you have a chance to include complete information for a tournament please do so. By this I mean number of players, tournament location, etc. If you are curious about what information I'm looking for please reference the Historical Top 8 thread.

Just to reiterate: For a tournament to be included in our Historical T8 thread, we must be able to look at the following things:

1. Attendance #
2. T8 Lists
3. Location
4. Date

Does anyone have any information why the T8 decklists are not posted for the December Iserlohn? I see that the Final Standings are listed, but the usual T8 decklists are not available.

Any info on the Molsheim event of 13 Jan? According to this (http://www.legacy-france.com/Molseim-1301-t1287.html) report, it had six rounds of play, so it's eligible for the Top 8 count.
