So Jesus came to me in my sleep last night and told me about Phyrexian Dreadnaught having new rules text, or old rules text, well there was something different about it than from what it was like before.
So I decided that I should go ahead and break the format and I came up with this decklist:
// Lands
4 [DS] Darksteel Citadel
4 [MR] Glimmervoid
4 [MR] Vault of Whispers
4 [MR] Seat of the Synod
4 [MR] Great Furnace
// Creatures
3 [MR] Myr Enforcer
4 [MR] Disciple of the Vault
4 [DS] Arcbound Ravager
4 [MR] Frogmite
4 [DS] Arcbound Worker
2 [MR] Atog
4 [MI] Phyrexian Dreadnought
// Spells
4 [FD] Cranial Plating
4 [SH] Fling
4 [IA] Brainstorm
3 [SC] Stifle
// Sideboard
SB: 3 [SOK] Pithing Needle
SB: 4 [OV] Pyroclasm
SB: 4 [U] Blue Elemental Blast
SB: 4 [TSB] Tormod's Crypt
Now I'm sure you are looking at this decklist and thinking to yourself 'whoamygawd that's affinity! that deck sucks!' Well that is simply not true my simple-minded simpleton.
Let me explain some card choices.
Myr Enforcer: This guy has affinity and is really big. I think 3 is the right number because of his high CC.
Disciple of the Vault: This guy hurts your opponent when he destroys your artifacts, or when you sacrifice your artifacts.
Arcbound Ravager: This guy has modular, that's the only reason I can think of him being in the deck.
Frogmite: a 2/2 for free is a pretty good deal. And he doesn't have a creature type which means your opponent can't set double engineered plague set to this guy.
Arcbound Worker: a one-drop. I don't like this guy as much as the other guys, he could afford being cut.
Atog: A sacrifice outlet and he can get really friggin big. And he doesn't die to shatter.
Cranial Plating: One of the best equipment in the deck. Makes your creatures bigger, and hurts your opponent.
Brainstorm: I think that this cards draw power is superior to thoughtcast because it costs the same (sometimes less), is instant and digs a card deeper. The only downside I can see is if you need to cast it on your turn, and that really isn't that bad.
Stifle: A one mana spell that counters a lot of things that could mess this deck up.
and finally....
PHYREXIAN DREADNOUGHT: This guy is a freaking BEAST! He's :1: mana for a 12/12! and people are playing 5/6's for 2...you can stifle his ability, fling him at your opponent before you sacrifice, or even sacrifice him to ravager or atog! heck, you can even sacrifice the creatures needed to keep him in play if you have a disciple of the vault in play and make your opponent lose a bunch of life.
This deck is very fast and has a favorable matchup against most control decks that are slower then this (landstill, gro) but doesn't do too well against fast combo decks like CRET belcher. Against slow combo like iggy pop it's about 50-50. It really depends on who can kill faster.
Possible Cards:
Aether Vial
Breath of Fury
Other's I have not thought of!?!?!?!?!?!?!
