I was seriousely contemplating running the usual Mono U Unicorn Storm deck at this tourny, but Belcher is just too damn retarded and fast. Perhaps one day if for some reason if LED gets banned I'll pick Solidarity back up, but for now, I'll stick with the more broken deck. I arrived at the UaW after a 2 hour drive, which should have only taken an hour and a half, but Phil Stolze was a retard and left out directions. Anyways, on to the list I ran.

Round 1: Little Man (sorry don't recall name) playing a 5/3ish Mono Brown list.
Game 1: I win the die roll and keep an opening hand that makes 10 Goblins. He scoops up his cards before even playing a land. He flashes he a Chalice of The Void so I know he was at least packing those.
SB: -1x Wild Cantor -1x Street Wraith -1x Tinder Wall +3x Shattering Spree
Game 2: I mulligan to 6. He is on the play and casts a turn 1 Sphere of Resistance. I have Shattering Spree and Belcher in hand, but the Sphere really slowed me down, as I would have to spend two mana on Spree, thus making me unable to kill him. I sit back a few turns trying to gather up enough mana to blow up Sphere of Resistance and follow with the kill. He casts a Juggernaught and starts beating me down. I finally Shattering Spree the Sphere and lay down Belcher, just being short of activating it. I pass and he Wastelands my Taiga and he just beats me down while I draw complete shit.
Game 3: I'm on the play and I kill him on turn two with Goblin Charbelcher I believe.

Round 2: Colin with E!GBRUATSA2K7
Game 1: I win the die roll and keep a questionable hand with 2x LED, an Empty the Warrens, and enough cards to make three mana. I think for a while over this hand and decide to run it. (Probably a mistake, but it paid off.) I pass and he Therapys my ETW. I proceed to topdeck Burning Wish like a champ and make a ton of Goblins. He scoops his cards.
SB: Nothing
Game 2: He is on the play and Duresses out my ETW turn 1. I pass and he drops Tarmogoyf. I play Land Grant and pass. Next turn I topdeck ETW and make 8ish Goblins. I as concerned they might not be enough, but he only had a Tarmogoyf on the table so I gave it a shot. I swung the following turn and got facialed by Sandstorm. He proceeds to drop Null Rod and I lose to Tarmogoyf.
Game 3: I keep a 7 card hand with Land Grant, 1x Lotus Petal, Wild Cantor, Rite of Flame, Desperate Ritual, Seething Song, Goblin Charbelcher. I drop turn 1 Belcher and Wild Cantor on turn 1, with Lotus Petal and a tapped Taiga in play. I proceeded to kill him on turn 2. His hand was teh nuts had I not killed him so fast.
Matches: 2-0
We get sent off on a lunch break, and me, Dave Price, Zach Fine, and Cody Mannion all go off to wendy's to pound Baconators. I take a giant shit, and come back with heartache and ready to play round three.
Round 3: Vs. Jesse Robinson with R/G Goblins and MD Jitte and City of Traitors.
I understand if I can win this match I can just draw the last two rounds into the T8. Although Goblins is like one of my bets matchups possible, I have NEVER won a match against Goblins in tournaments with Belcher. I always just mulligan into hell and draw like 3 Belchers in a row.
Game 1: I'm on the play and I mulligan to 5 (of course). I keep an ok hand that makes 10 Goblins on turn three. It's too late however, as he drops his MD Goblin Sharpshooter and takes out my board. W/E.

He goes lackey and other stuff and I proceed to draw a 2nd Belcher, like 2x Shattering Spree, then a Wild Cantor and then I finally topdeck a Burning Wish. I make a bunch of Goblins becase he had lethal on the board and then he just Engineered Explosives them all to hell or something. I was too pissed to really pay attention at that point. I did however win a door prize for a really nice pewter Black Lotus Pin!! :smile:

Round 4: Vs Adam Phillips with Meathookz!!!
I realize I have to win out, since the attendance was so close to the 6 round mark that most 3-1-1 would not make it in.
Game 1: I knew he was playing Slivers because I saw him in early rounds. He is on the play and goes Tundra pass. I try to cast Goblin Charbelcher turn 1 and he Brainstorms into Daze. He drops a bunch of Muscle/Sinew Slivers and starts beating me down. I eventually make some Goblins later on, but he goes Winged Sliver and I get pwned.
SB: -2 Wild Cantor, -1x Street Wraith, -1x Tinder Wall, + 4x Pyroblast
Game 2: I keep and so does he. I proceed to make alot of Goblins and he dies.
Game 3: He is on the play and keeps a hand with Meddling Mage and CounterSpell in it, but NO FOW or Daze! He plays a land and passes, and lay down a Belcher and activate it the next turn to kill him. Who would of thought two mana was too slow?

My team mate Phil Stolze had just finished his match, putting him at 2-0-2. If we both win our next round we are guranteed in the T8!! We figure we probably won't get paired, but we figured quite wrong.
Round 5: vs Phil Stolze with Alluren... WTF DCI Reporter?!
We cry a little bit about playing eachother.. and agree that after the match we will punt Babies to eachother back and forth on a football field.
Game 1: I can't recall who was on the play, but he had the FOW to shut me down and he just beat me up with Cavern Harpies backed by Therapy recursion. It also didn't help that I mulliganed to 5.

After swiss, I was the first seed, which ended up sucking because I had to play against Geoff Smelski, who was playing 4c Landstill, which was by far the worst matchup in the T8 for me.

Game 1: He is on the play and goes land pass. I mulliganed to 5 by the way. I proceed to make 8 Goblins. I swing him down to 3 and pass. He flips over the top card of his library and it ends up being the ONLY card to save him. Engineered Explosives.. come on!!! He wipes the board and beats me down with Factories.....
