This was a pretty well-run event and I liked being able to preregister. That said, the T4 was timed and had the nefarious "first person to take damage loses" rule come up. As the T4 started at 4:45, it would seem that there was plenty of time for the match to resolve naturally without having to time it.

Suffice to say that Threshold beat Golden Grahams because it has Lightning Bolts in the deck. Cephalid Breakfast had to crack a fetchland and I didnt, but beat me because he went first. We both had 2cc 1/1s, but he had a bounce spell. Too bad I didn't get to say "I won a Mox with Sage of Epityr" since he wasn't in my opening hand.

Just to give some insight to some of the readers who did not attend this:

What "Isamaru" means is both top4 matches went to time in their 3rd game. Well, as most people understood it, the top 4 really should not be timed when it comes to legacy format. Regardless, sal game lost because when a top 4 is timed like that then after the 5 turns if the game is not resolved it goes to whoever has the highest life total. Then if they are tied there it results in whoever draws first blood after the 5 turns. Point is threshold won because he has lightning bolts and fire/ice. Sal game actually has a very favorable match against threshold.

Fortunatly, breakfast won the other match because of tarmogoyf. He is one of the best creatures in that situation.

To recap my experiance I would say I had a great time getting together with everyone and playing some cards but my last minute decision to play a deck I had very little experiance with was probably not wise and prove to be quite inaffective.

I played a very standard build of breakfast, as oppose to the second place deck, and my round were as follows:

Round 1 - Threshold(Mox winner): 0-2
Round 2 - Pro player, Kyle Boggemes w/Affinity(A.K.A "No sleeves"): 2-0
Round 3 - TES: 0-2
Round 4 - Dropped

Overall a flop for me but, oh well. Thanks for the tourny guys and try to cut that time limit on the top next time  .

What do you mean "Fortunately"? Are you implying that I would not deserve to win, if I had?

We were in the third round, meaning we each won a game, so it was anyone's game. He did not win with Tarmogoyf  He won because he went first, so Narcomoeba won the race vs. Epochrasite. Keep in mind if I had drawn Sage of Epityr in the opening hand, things might have even been different. I didn't use a fetchland, while he did.

I am quite sorry. I did not mean it like that at all. I meant as oppose to the other match, no one had burn "fortunatly". I am also sorry for mistaking how he actually won in game 3. I thought I looked over and there was a tarmogoyf. I don't think you would not deserve the win at all. You were playing the most unique deck of the 4 so hats off for that.
