Just asking: Can I vial in a Dryad Arbor when there are no counters on the Vial?

Dryad Arbor has a cmc of 0, so this nifty little trick should work, or am I wrong?

The other day I there was a Dryad out with Humility and Blood Moon on the table (Blood Moon first I think, if it matters). Is it now a Mountain Creature that's a 1/1?

It's a 1/1 Mountain Creature with no abilities.

It's a 1/1 Land Creature - Mountain Dryad with no color and no abilities.

Blood Moon applies in layer 4, and it causes Dryad Arbor to become a 1/1 Land Creature - Mountain Dryad. It loses the intrinsic mana ability it had as a Forest, and gains the intrinsic mana ability it has as a Mountain. But it loses the "Dryad Arbor is green." before that ability can apply (since that applies in layer 5).

Humility applies in layer 5 and 6b. Humility causes Dryad Arbor to lose the intrinsic mana ability it has as a Mountain. Then in 6b, its power and toughness become 1/1 (not much of a change from its original power and toughness).

Yup. Vial away.

so....
Forest
tap forest
vial
tap vial to put Dryad Arbor into play

is fine as a first turn? even though its a second land? that's some insane acceleration btw...

oh, since i'm asking related questions... can fetches find dryad arbor? (i mean the green/x ones ofcourse)

Yes, you can Fetch an Arbor.

And yes, you can go Forest -> Vial -> Arbor, even though it's also a land, because you're not actually playing two lands in one turn. If there was some other effect which put a land directly into play from your hand, it would also circumvent the 'one land per turn' rule.

edit: OMG Sneak Attack+Arbor!!!!!!!!!!!!111oneoneone. It totally turns the red mana you spent into a green mana. And mana fixing is FTW.

Vial and Arbor isn't worth it, by the way. I tried it in Goblins and it resulted in mass failure.

Yep, I think someone here said that under every time you want to mention "the danger of cool things", you should just post a scan of Dryad Arbor.

So many interactions, so few drawback. Except that the interactions are just cute, whereas the drawbacks are huge.

Isn't Dryad Arbor decent in Nine Land Stompy?

Isn't Nine Land Stompy a good budget deck for beginning players?

How come budget/new players get to use cool things?

Isn't a land that comes into play tapped the ultimate bane of a balls-to-the-wall aggro deck like Mono-G Stompy?

I'm a avid 9LS player, and I would have to say no, it isnt good in 9LS. It doesent mesh well with quirion ranger, since it will keep getting summoning sickness back. Being a creature, its more vulnerable to removal, so as a mana producer its very fragle in a deck with a very tight mana base. And as a creature its only a 1/1. The only creatures in 9LS that can get away with being 1/1's are Quirion Ranger, Skyshroud Elite, and Skarrgan Pit-Skulk. But despite those negatives, there are a few tricks and such you can do with them. Obviously they turn a mid/late game LG into a creature tutor, and bounceing them with Quirion while damage is on the stack is kind of neat. I'll eventualy try it, as i dont like completely dismissing things without trying them first, but i feel the negs outway the posatives.

Other then that, yes its a great beginer deck.

Really? I heard that it was good in Nine Land Stompy somewhere.

Oh well, I'm not really a green aggro person anyway.

It's awesome with Vial and Quirion Ranger and Fetchlands, and stuff, but then, your Lackey blocker gets Wastelanded, or your first land gets Fanatic'd, and you rue the day.

It does have the awesomeness of a man land without an activation cost. Take that Pithing Needle!

The card is busted in Vintage Ichorid.
