The link to the B/G version with Berserk: http://www.mtgthesource.com/forums/showthread.php?t=6110

This is a variant of the recently made Cure deck. Having been searching the Net for a aggro/combo deck that is not Goblins or Affinity, I played against a G/W variant of the cure deck. It had a nice combo to it but was still under construction, seeing it run things like Mira Boa.

I decided to give my deck making skills a try at tweaking the B/G Cure deck that Dr Jones was working on.

This Cure deck has a red splash to take advantage of the spell Fling. Several reasons to use Fling over Berserk:

1) You don't have the money for Berserk. Berserk is a card that costs 60$ (!) and most people really don't want to pay that much money for a card that is so severely limited compared to cards like fetchlands and dual lands.

2) It's an instant speed, which allows you to avoid having to deal combat damage to finish off your opponent. Normally this won't be a problem for this deck but I would Imagine there would be times when attacking isn't an option.

Here is the deck list that I have managed to create:

Creatures
4 Kavu Predator
4 Skyshroud Cutter
4 Tarmogoyf
4 Troll Ascetic
4 Wild Mongrel

Spells
4 False Cure
3 Fling
4 Invigorate
3 Reverent Silence

Enchantments
4 Rancor

Artifacts
4 Lotus Petal

Lands
1 Badlands
4 Bayou
3 Bloodstained Mire
1 Forest
1 Mountain
1 Swamp
1 Taiga
2 Windswept Heath
4 Wooded Foothills

Combos include Kavu with a few of the life-based spells and then either attacking, casting False Cure before using the spells or attacking and then casting Fling. Wild Mongrel also offers us the ability to turn dead cards into pump for beatdown. Skyshroud Cutter acts as a turn-1 blocker for Goblin decks Lackey. Lotus Petals allows us to power out quick beats and it also pumps up our Goyf. Troll Ascetic is a solid beater for when you are facing a control match: It can't be targeted by your opponents spells and basically forces them to answer it or slowly die. I have Goyf of course.

There is a small amount of disynergy between Rancor and Reverent Silence, though it is nothing to big as we don't lose the Rancor permanently.

My sideboard is still under construction as of now.

Any suggestions are more than welcome.

Probably shouldn't have made your own thread, as it's almost the same deck.

Is there any difference between the two decks?

Is there any difference between the two decks?

I used several different creatures. I also use more land and splash 3 colors. This deck does not use Berserk but uses fling in it's place.

The concept of this deck is a cheaper version that can still work without Berserk.
