So I finally found a job I love, I make great money, and I am happy with I do. I wake up this morning and turn on the computer, Syracuse.com pops up and what is the first story: http://blog.syracuse.com/news/2007/1...eld_produ.html (http://blog.syracuse.com/news/2007/10/honeywell_buys_hand_held_produ.html)
it also made cnnmoney.com
http://money.cnn.com/news/newsfeeds/...15102007-1.htm (http://money.cnn.com/news/newsfeeds/articles/prnewswire/NYM05915102007-1.htm)
Now I have to wonder if I still have that wonderful job. I get to work and the first thing I see is three female employees walking out the front door, they were crying. I have been at work for over 3 hours now and nobody knows anything. The article’s say that Honeywell will decide what they are going to do with the company after doing a finical review of the NY hq. Anybody that lives in NY knows how expensive it is to own/run a company here.
So if anybody knows of a company in the Syracuse area that is hiring a Level I Computer Electronics technician with a degree in CEET please lmk.

You know what they say: "If you can't beat them: buy them and liquidate their assets."
Sorry. :(
I've found that Monster.com is actually a pretty good resource for IT Professionals. I'm a Help Desk Manager at the dinky little school I go to. I posted my resume on Monster.com and within a week I'd already had two interviews and two offers for positions that pay significantly more than I'm making now. I live in Boston, where there are probably more job opportunities than Syracuse, but post your resume anyway.

Monster is definitely great. Also your local newspaper might have a website with a classified section where you can post your resume. That is usually a great option because you know all the offers you get will be local. Even though you can specify that on monster a lot of the time you will get contacted by people that are outside of your area (which may not be a problem for you but I duno). Trick is to post your resume in as many places as you can.

I concur with the awesomeness of Monster. Keep updating your profile every day for a week or two and you shouldn't have any trouble finding a good position.

www.dice.com (IT professionals)
www.usajobs.gov (Gov't jobs, that likely aren't going away)
www.careerbuilder.com (like Monster, kinda)
syracuse.craigslist.org (for finding smaller companies, and obscure positions)

C-X tech. or is it CS tech. What ever it is. I hear commericals for them all the time on the radio. Might look in to them.

It's CX Tech and I am looking into them. From what I hear it is a great place to work.
Monster is actually generally the worst.
When I needed a job, I got a good one from replying to a Craigslist ad. Lots of temp/contract agencies use it, which aren't the greatest thing, but there's some good jobs. Especially if you need temp work or odd jobs to hold you over.
http://www.jobbankinfo.org used to be really good too (it's run by the Dept of Labor), but I don't know how quality it is currently.
