I dunno, I just kinda threw it together and was wondering if anyone had any suggestions...

4 bayou
4 badlands
2 taiga
4 wooded foothills
2 bloodstained mire
1 mountain
1 forest
1 swamp
1 urborg, tomb of yawgmouth
1 volrath's stronghold

4 werebear
4 tarmogoyf
4 dark confidant
1 fledgling dragon

4 thoughtseize
4 lightning bolt
4 pernicioud deed
3 engineered explosives
3 night's whisper
4 duress (maybe cabal therapy)
4 incinerate (need more instants)

sideboard//

I don't know... maybe.

4 leyline of the void (or crypt)
3 krosan grip
4 red elemental blast
4 engineered plague

The deck looks like it should have a good Mu against threshold, since we have more creatures and the right kinda creature control... you also have a decent sideboard plan against most things... maybe running pyroclasm against gobbos instead of plague, untested.

Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Seems inferior to all the other thresh builds because you don't have blue. The cheap cantrips and counters that blue builds have are one of the main reasons that threshold is so successful in the first place. It also seems like this build would have a tough time getting to threshold. How would you say this deck plays out on a good run?

Why Werebear over Mongoose?

Better yet, why Black over Blue?

Or red over blue? Black Thresh can actually be quite some good, better than red in a format where there's a lot of Tarmogoyf.

Seems like a very inferior Gagomy build.

The template that this deck originated from was Funk Brew, not Gagomy, or blue based threshold...

This is meant to deal with the conventional threshold variants, while still attempting to maintain decent MUs against both aggro, and combo...

Gagomy is much more aggressive than this deck and runs a little less draw and disruption... Threshold is actually achieved pretty regularly by the white splash of funkbrew, there is no reason for there to be a difference here.

Blue will never guarantee a great MU against another 'threshold' deck... there will always be a chance to lose in that MU in the mirror, this on the other hand runs stronger creatures, and more card advantage than conventional thresh...

This is still just in the conceptual stage, any suggestions would be very appreciated!

I think that your deeds and ee both have dis-synergy since your running a slury of undercosted gro-beaters. If ever you deed at two or higher your board gets blown up. If your going to use deed I would up the curve on your creatures so deed doesn't clear all the development you've done.
Even though you have 8 discard main my bet is you don't have a good mu against combo. Unlike Blue threshs that have 12 or more good cards against combo and a tone of cantrips to find them you have 8 good cards and 4 slow ways to find them. This would be fine if you could put some pressure on them and make them go off after one or two discard but I don't think you have a clock fast enough to put any pressure on them aside from enormous card advantage from multiple confidant draws.
I think that this deck would be better either as a thresh, or a rock deck but not a combo of both. If you keep on testing let us know how it goes.

In decks with low CC guys I think EE is the way to go.

-4 P.Deed -4 Incinerate
+4 Seal of Fire/Tarfire +4 Nimble mongoose?
