View Full Version : Any new Grand Prix?
Since there has only been one Legacy GP this year (GP: Flash), so you guys think there'll be any Legacy GP's next year? I was browsing at wizards through their tournament agenda and noticed they didn't have a scedual for next year.
I really believe there will be at least one, but I'm affraid there will again only be one in the US. I'd really like another GP in France, Germany or even The Netherlands (a guy can hope, right?).
Does anyone know when the agenda for next year will be released?
And what do you personally think about future Legacy GP's?
I'll make a promise right here and now: If we get 2 GP's, both in the US and Europe, I'll attend to both. That's right, if we get threaded by wizards, I'll fly over to meet some of you guys, and play some decent Legacy (I'll propably also come if the only one is in the US, but that sounds a little miserable, doesn't it?).

There have been 2 North American Grand Prix anounced for 2008. Philly and Hollywood. Hollywood will be Standard and the trials will be Extended, the format for Philly has not beed anounced yet, if I had to guess, it will be limited. I don't really see there being a Legacy GP for 2008, it will be 2009 till you see another one.
Grand Prix for the upcoming season are typically announced around the time of Worlds.
Only Philly and Hollywood are known so far.
I would say that it's unlikely that there will be a Legacy GP for 2008, and even less likely that there would be one in both Europe and the US.
That would really suck.
I was still going to school at the time of GP:Philly, was released from the hospital at the day GP: Lille started (only a 3 hour trip!), and I didn't care to pay over E700,- just to play GP:Flash.
I'd really like to attend to a Legacy GP soon, but the powers that be will propably prevent it. Too bad, but I've been waiting for it since 2004, another year won't harm me.

GP Flash was actually a huge success. It had a huge turnout for the format being totally screwed up. If wizards considers that it is very likely we will see another grand prix. Wizards also seems interested in bringing events to the legacy format nowadays more than ever before. I mean it will be played at worlds.
Wizards will also need to do something once extended rotates because the new extended will suck. It is quite possible they push legacy a lot to appeal to the people that will be very upset by the rotation.

They actually said they are working on a Legacy PT!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Of course, they said that 2008 is set, and if they can get the idea through (still an idea) it would not be till 2009 at the EARLIEST!

Oops, turns out that Hollywood is a PT not a GP. So the only GP, so far, for next year is Philly.

Yea. And maybe since GP Flash was sooo much of a success, they would errata some card a month before the next GP, too, to make it insane, just like GP Flash.
