If I have a Tarmogoyf in play and an artifact creature in my yard, such as a Shield Sphere, does Tarmogoyf recognize it as both a creature and artifact or just either or?

It recognizes both. Same with having something like Great Furnace in the yard, it represents both an artifact and a land.

Tarmogoyf will check all types of all cards in your graveyard, so if you have: Tar Fire, Arcbound Ravager, Wasteland, Garruk Wildspeaker, Standstill, and Ponder in your yard, Tarmogoyf will be an 8/9.

Tar Fire is a Tribal-Instant (2/3), Ravager is an Artifact-Creature (4/5), Wasteland is a Land (5/6), Garruk is a Plainswalker (6/7), Standstill is an Enchantment (7/8) and Ponder is a Sorcery (8/9).

How do you do it in 5 with Bound in Silence (Or Hoofprints, which is probably more playable in Legacy)? If you use a Tribal Enchantment, I think you need 6 cards.
