One of the beta English is very very minty! The second has seen some play but is in very great shape. The Foreign black bordered have also seen some play but are excellent shape as well!

I am so there! I was wondering when the first large legacy event of the year would be. I hope people can put there hatred/frustration with Play the Game/Altered States aside and play in this event. The last two "large" events there have been not so large.
Will this event be held in store or somewhere else in the mall?
Who will be judging this event?
Will this event start on time?

as far as starting on time? if people come and register on time the event can start on time! Pre-reg and save a step and $5! (if you're not sure how to pre-reg please check the website or call the store.)

yes that is correct about the pre-reg and there is a money back gaurntee if you pre-reg and do not attend the event.
Prizes:
Top 2 Gaurnteed! (providing the event has 8 people)
Top 4 slots are gaurnteed! (again providing the event has 8 people)
The rest of the top 8 slots are gaurnteed with 17+ people (less than that there is no need for a top 8 play off)
However 3rd-8th are based on attendance. The origional example of packs given was at 30 players.
example 2: at 17 players
1st: 2 english tundra
2nd: 4 fbb tundra
3rd & 4th: 1/2 box
5th - 8th: 1/4 box
example 3: at 11 players
1st: 2 english tundra
2nd: 4 fbb tundra
3rd & 4th: 1/4 box
rule of thumb - the more people that come the more i can give away!

The best deck for you is some sort of beatdown aggro strategy. I think combo is very hard to play correctly unless your one of the seasoned legacy players.
I'll bring the cards you need on Saturday, so there will be no excuses for messing up with Spring Tide.

Yeah, I was wondering the same thing, I don't think they realize how many people are going to show up, maybe they are planing on opening up the back room, like they did at the Sun. Pre-release. If we got 40+ it will be cramped, o well I had to play on 3 floors at states, neutral ground is now in a new location and we were forced to play on 3 levels...up stairs was insanely warm!!!

No Counterbalance. The creature configuration was Mongeese, Tarmogoyf, and some number of Trygon Predator. They ran maindeck Wasteland, Stifle, Lightning Bolt, and Fire/Ice. It was rough for me. I'd ask the people who piloted the deck for more information though, as I just base this off what I saw.

Tarmogoyf
Nimble Mongoose
Trygon Predator (Sideboard)
Force Of Will
Daze
Lightning Bolt
Fire/Ice
Rushing River
Stifle
Ponder
Brainstorm
Portent
(yeah, all three of those draws)
Wasteland
Tropical Island
Volcanic Island
Fetches
(no basics)
Not sure on the quantities for everything.
I played against it first round and watched other rounds with him - every time he needed an answer, he would play a draw spell and it would be in the top three cards every time, or he would shuffle them away and just draw it anyway off the top. It was crazy.

The deck is totally redundant, an answer comes in many many forms. He probably wasn't looking for just 1 card, but 1 of a few. That's kinda how the deck works.

After seeing the contents of your list I noticed you had Fire/Ice. How useful was it during this event? There has been a few discussions (Format (http://www.mtgthesource.com/forums/showthread.php?t=8088)/Ugr Threshold (http://www.mtgthesource.com/forums/showthread.php?t=7051&page=49#post189634)) regarding this card and its relevance in the current Meta. It seem like the majority didn't favor it. Maybe you don't mind giving your take.

The contents of those posts on the UGr Thresh thread are the reason I have stopped sharing my opinion on the deck. When I previously decided to post on the merits of wasteland and stifle in threshold after the deck's resounding success at Gencon, it was not taken well and I felt as though I was not being listened to. I will not repeat the same mistake again.

I had a good time. I went 4-0, and drew in. I lost the mirror match in top 8. I won 24 packs. I beat: Goyf sleigh 2-1, Landstill 1-0-1, Cephalid breakfast 2-1, Suicide B/g 2-0. Four of my six opponents made the top 8, so it shows I didnt get paired against scrubs. All my wins came from my deck working great. I lost to Di in 2 games, the first one I jumped out quick, then drew land land birds land... he recovered. Then game two I didnt draw land. It was good time, and I have no complaints or regrets.

I had a wonderful time at the event. I played BHWC Landstill to a disappointing 2-2-2 record. I think I learned a lesson in capitalizing on my opponent's mistakes. After a draw with Nantuko Shady, I couldn't buy a win, losing twice, drawing again (goddamn Landstill mirror), and playing against someone who forgot to drop and conceded the match.
For those of you counting at home, I earned one win.

Please post T8 decklists whenever possible.

I totally agree and understand your situation. A similar one has pushed me to stop writing in that thread. Also, the post quality has declined to the point where I wonder if people re-read what they have written before posting it(just take a look at the number of "here's my decklist. Fix it" posts and redundant posts).

From what I've been told no one collected decklists from the tournament organizer. I've pmed the tournament organizer hoping to hear back. Without the decklists, this tournament won't be included in the Historical T8 thread. I think that would be unfortunate.

Nightmare said he got the lists from Rob the T.O., after Rob entered them all in his computer. He said the Canadians took theirs back though, so even if he can get you the six, I don't know if the rules will allow straight memory from all those who played Pham and Caplan to substitute actual lists.

4 Brainstorm
4 Daze
4 Fire / Ice
4 Force Of Will
4 Lightning Bolt
4 Ponder
4 Spell Snare

3 Flooded Strand
3 Polluted Delta
4 Tropical Island
4 Volcanic Island
4 Wasteland

2 Trygon Predator
2 Krosan Grip
3 Engineered Explosives
4 Blue Elemental Blast
4 Pyroclasm

And I know Pham ran Grudge over Grip, and Crypt over EE. I am pretty sure he ran REB and not BEB as well. They both also ran 1 River and 1 Wipe Away. The problem being that no one knows 100% for certain every card in both decks except them.

The sideboard is the only think I'm unsure of. I saw them play Rushing River main deck. I'm not sure if they spilt it between that and wipe away or had more copies in the board.
I believe the deck list is very close to what they were playing.

Honestly at this point who cares if they took their lists back. It really isn't going to stop anyone from playing something similar since the cards are known. The only thing unkown is the quantity, which isn't really a big deal.

Yeah, but it's a shame that it essentially invalidates the results from Winter Wonderland. No decklists means no Historical Top 8 means 8 less decks that reflect the LMF.

While I respect their choice to withold their lists, I really don't understand it. It's not as if the decks are spectacularly new (from what I've read here). Some of us have played epsilon-close lists to the ones they seem to have played, so I don't see what's the fuss.

Actually I woke up at 10:35am ....debated weather or not to go... then left the house at 10:55 for an 11am tourny. I got there at 11:15 and started to buy a card I needed. And I built this as they were entering folks into the computer and pairing the round.
4 Tiaga
4 Bayou
2 Savannah
4 Wooded Foothills
2 Windswept Heath
5 Forest
4 Birds of Paradice
4 Nimble mongoose
4 Tarmogoyf
4 Survival of the Fittest
4 Eternal Witness
4 Cabal Therapy
2 Wall of Roots
(now for why i dont write the list out often)
1 Flametongue Kavu
1 Gaddock Teeg
1 Fire Imp
1 Magus of the Moon
1 Harmonic Sliver
1 Bone Shredder
1 Anger
1 Genisis
1 Squee, Goblin Nabob
1 Shriekmaw (has fear not flying, lol)
1 Rofellos, Llanowar Emissary
1 Quirion Ranger
1 Darkheart Sliver
1 Spike Feeder
61 total
Sideboard
3 Magus of the Moon
3 Engineered Plague
3 Tormod's Crypt
2 Thoughtseize
2 Extirpate
2 Krosan Grip
In round 4, I cast the maw on my own Genisis to be able to get fire imp back and to fly over for the win in a few turns... he blocked it the first time i attacked.
Yay all top8 decklists are in (assuming we pretty much nailed Lam's list with the 100 versions). DTB insanity circa February 2008.
EDIT: My request of Lam Phan, his list is to be posted as same as Dave Caplan's. So we have the entire top8, and I'll be throwing them in the thread if someone hasn't done so already.
