What's the Highest Eternal Rating you've ever achieved? What event pushed it there for you and how'd you do in that event?

My highest was a 1916 or something like that. That was back when it was still 1.5, though. It was almost all through local tourneys, some of the bigger Amrod events too. I started the run with Food Chain Goblins and then switched over to U/r/w Landstill and proceeded to X-0 pretty much every tournament because the deck was absolutely retarded.
That was about the time I really started messing around. I stopped playing the "best" deck and started playing with fun decks. It was Di's Oath of Druids/Darksteel Colossus deck in 1.5, and I messed around with Enduring Ideal/Form of the Dragon in T2. Needless to say, my rating dropped like a rock since even going 3-1 I'd still lose points. I pretty much stopped caring about my rating, and it hasn't been over like 1850 in a couple of years, in any format.

1865. That was when I made back to back top8s.

My all-time high is something like 1820 and I got there with a 5-1 at the second Bazaar of Wonders tournament. I played Iggy Pop there which at that time was nearly unknown. That probably won one or two games for me. My loss came against a Terrageddon where I win game 1 easily, get killed on turn 5 in G2 without finding a tutor in 2 Brainstorms + 3 draws and in G3 he played 3 Armageddons, three times the turn before I would have comboed and when I did try for the combo he had an Abeyance ready.
I know I could do better if I would focus on playing one deck and playing that one perfectly, however I play mostly for fun and change decks more or less every week and that produces some mediocre results.
I've always had a rating around 1800 since then (April or May or so) however at the moment I'm not focusing enough on Legacy because next week there's GP Stuttgart like 200 kilometres away from me so I'm mostly playing Lorwyn limited. For next year I plan to surpass 1850, everything more would be a bonus.

My highest was 1931. At the time, it was 22nd in the world, back when I was the (self-appointed) strongest and most consistent 1.5 player on the planet. Currently mine is 1855.

A measly 1801 after round 1 of GP Columbus.

17-something. I'll have to check to see what it is currently.
Sad part is, this is after I Day-two'd Columbus. Maybe if I had done better that day...
Highest 1912, currently 1848.

1955 here. Currently 17th in the world, 11th in the US (And only second in Alabama, go figure.) Which is sad considering the farthest I've ever travelled for a tournament is about 100 miles and the largest one I've ever won was about 25 people.

This makes me want to start calling you "Artie - The strongest and most consistent 1.5 player........in the world!"

Damn, 1900 ratings lol. Im 7th in my state (CT) with whopping 1786 rating according to the rating site. Prolly going down since I 1-2 dropped at the last tournament losing to two Game 3 Nut Draws.
Sadly, a few tournaments I won were not reported for some reason?

Mine used to be high 1800s-low 1900s. I played a lot of worldgorger dragon combo.
Then, I decided to play Battle of Wits in the Big Arse 2. I got hit for full K value for 3 rounds. That was the end of that.

I had a 1905 after Philadelphia and the Dual for Duels and stuff. But stupid Jesse Hatfield would always fucking beat me in the local (which were sanctioned at this point) tournaments. Then, a series of depressing finishes has led me to my current 1705. What a beating.

How can you look at your rating?

1885 (Top 5 in Germany) before the last 3/3/0 in Speyer which took me down to 1858 now. That's what happens if I stop playing broken combo.decs =)

Then, click on ratings and rankings. Then, where you see Membership number, type in your DCI number, and then press the Search button.

My rating fluctuated in the early 2000's. The highest it's ever been was just about 1810 in 2003 - when I played Mask-Naught in the old 1.5. I played a bunch of mediocre decks and it teetered around 1700. Point is: When I play a good deck, I tend to do average because I grew up playing my own decks and always had a philosophy of "no net-decking" and it just kind of stuck. When I play my own creation, my rating skyrockets. That's just how I roll. Currently my rating is climbing - and am still thinking up some crazy shit to play.

My high point was a few months back when I hit 1853. I owe much of it to robots, and the terrible manabases in Syracuse that made destructive flow retardedly good.

I hit 1865 after Day 1 at GP Columbus. But then went 3-3 on day 2. I am now at 1827.

1731 after my first 6 sanctioned tournements (first one was vintage / unpowered). Got a strong boost for top 4ing at the German Legacy champs 2006 (the sixth tourney).
After that it mostly dropped for some time, especially after I started to play Threshold without much testing. Nowadays I'm at meager 1659 but at least it raises a bit every tourney unless I try a new experimental decklist (farewell Miracle Evolution)...

I think the highest mine has ever been was 1728 after Day 1 of GP:C after going 7-2. But then I did terrible Day 2 and pretty bad at Gencon (5-2 in the prelims, 0-2 in the Champs, 2-2 in a side event), so I'm sure it's down in the 1600's somewhere. It seems that all the tournaments I win go unrecorded, and the ones I do terrible in are the huge events.

1796 after Beating IBA at GP Columbus. It is currently like 1732. My e-penis would be bigger if we were doing constructed also :).
Edit: Cause I feel like bragging 2012 Constructed after round 7 of nats in 2004.

I was 2021 after round 10 of GP Philadelphia, but it ended up at 1919 by the end of the tournament.

Eternal (as of 2007-12-03)
1638 rating 16 matches 3 events

Hey, I'm 58th in Washington state. I love how it's based on 3 whole events. I'm sure it would be higher if my weekly was sanctioned.

Remember when Dave Price had the highest rating on the planet...2100 or something like that.
Remember when Dave Price had the highest rating on the planet...2100 or something like that.
I'm sure mine would've been that high if I were living in Rochester. Shit, I'm sure my toaster would have a 2000 rating if it were living in Rochester.
I don't mean to bag on him, but that really wasn't saying much. It's like the equivalent of a near-1900 rating in a competitive metagame, maybe. You guys had like < 5 really good players out of a 40-person turnout each week. It just so happens those < 5 players all enjoyed insanely high ratings.

I just recently looked mine up, and saw that I have no Eternal rating.

1870.
I day 2ed at Columbus, then went undefeated in a local event, top 8ed Gencon Prelims, and Top 4ed Gencon in a row. That did it.
10th in Canada, 4th in the Province.

1826...back in 05 when I was pretty tightly focused on competing & we had a well established local Legacy scene (several game stores ago). Ironically we have a much larger (and more robust) overall MA Legacy scene but have dwindled somewhat locally (and I haven't been helping the problem...). Time to get off my ass & get going....soon....

Uh...1920ish. I can't remember exactly, considering it was like 8 years ago. I know I was in the top 50 in the world at the time. Too bad that's the one rating where that has never mattered. Heh.
Fun note: I did lose 31 points when I lost to T Is for T00l at GenCon this year; hot.

1865. That was when I made back to back top8s.
So 142 years, I think you're due for a comeback!
1821. That was back then where I placed Ninth at the Vintage Worlds Sideevent in Paris (went 6-1 and then lost to Hugo van Dijke because I was so fucking tired that I didn't cared about by draw anymore, it was 3am in the morning -.-) and a short tiem after that I won a local Vintage event here in Speyer.
After that I focused more on Legacy. I played a lot of inconsistent decks/decks I'm not familiar with and dropped to 1651 or something like that.
Now I'm working up again, I'm currently at 1715 I think. But that Vintage event will drag it down again. But let's see how I'll perform at the GP Stuttgart Side Event.
