I can't for the life of me figure out how Wizards didn't see that Tarmogoyf was way way way undercosted not just in legacy but in standard as well?

This wasn't some intricate complex combo enabler.

It doesnt even need a deck to be built around it, like affinity did.

It's the simplest card in the world. If they test cards, at all, there's no way that they couldn't have predicted that Goyf is miscosted.

Even in standard goyf is everywhere. The card is blantantly too powerful, in every single format.

So my question is how could it have seen print?

Does the dci not test cards?

Or did they know full well what they were doing and decided to do it for the hell of it anyways?

How about we stop having so many threads about Goyf? One is too many.

I think Desire is a much better example of how broken cards can be. Or... Yog bargin, Yog will, Memory Jar.... I think it's pretty obvious that there are way better cards that have slipped by testers than Tarmogoyf.

Why don't you join us in the Ban Goyf thread, its a lot of fun, we just keep repeating the same thing over and over again...

To answer your question, no. To my knowledge, both Tarmogoyf and Bridge from Below are Mark Rosewater creations thrown into the set (Future Sight) at the last minute.

This is better discussed in this thread (http://mtgthesource.com/forums/showthread.php?t=7893).
