Just thought I might make this thread to see what people like to play. There are good decks, but this is about the fun factor. If you vote other, post what the deck is. I really just want to know what the fun, competative decks are.

Faerie Stompy!!!

I also have all the cards for just about every deck, but if I had to choose other decks to play:

Landstill
Thresh
Fish

Truffle Shuffle. Always and forever.

This may go without saying. Survival FTW.

Faerie Stompy!

It's strong and quick, and still has something like the rogue factor working.

deadguy ale:tongue: i like that deck not only because its still my only deck im playing now but because i really like the color black in legacy and the answers the deck can have on almost everything.

I currently play Armageddon Stax or Dragon Stompy. I really like Trinisphere and I'm also a big fan of any deck that includes Humility. Sadly I don't own enough duals to play Uwb Landstill or 4c Survival else I'd be playing one of those.

If you don't know, you haven't been here long enough.

HINT: It rhymes with 'livers', or maybe 'heat books'.

p.s. Thanks for ruining my joke with your fancy 'pronounciations', Deathwing. Of course, how awesome would heat books be?

If you don't know, you haven't been here long enough.

HINT: It rhymes with 'livers', or maybe 'geat jooks'.

I'm too used to jook sounding like jewk. So geat jooks sounds like some weird football sidestep.

Anyway, if it comes down to fun factor, I'd probably go with something more interactive, like Goblins. If it's a casual competitive thing (like Friday night tournaments, etc), probably Thresh or Landstill.

Full on tournament fun, Ankh Sligh.

Survival....customizable, fun to play, random fat creatures, and bombs. Did I mention it plays 25 hasty Goyfs?

Ichorid for insane amounts of awesome sauce and explosiveness. Plus it hoses the two most boring decks currently played: Thresh and Landstill.

Favourite deck to play is still Faerie Stompy. There's just something about how the deck functions that makes it incredibly fun to pilot. The deck I'd play competitively? Faerie Stompy. That's the great thing about the deck, it's fully viable while being craptons of fun.

That said, there're times when I just feel like whipping up another deck and that's when I might pick up Ru or Rb Joblins, False Cure Sui, 8-Sphere Affinity or something else of the sort. Basically, any disruptive, explosive aggro-deck.

I'm playing Threshold, mostly UGw oder UGwb because its simply the best deck in the format.

But when it comes to fun I would play Ichorid or Faerie Stompy. Both are a bit rouge but can go off like a squirrel on LSD.

Confidant/Wraith Tendrils. I love going aggro with combo decks in adverse situations.

Adan

Threshold. Most consistent deck of the format and very skill-intensive.

I've only been playing FS for four days, but I'm inclined to agree with Eladriel. As much of a blast it is to play when everything goes right, it amazes me with it's resilience to dig itself out of holes and still pull ahead durring seemingly bleek circumstances (ie mulling to 4).

Survival.

Its fun to play because it has lots of different creatures in it.

Its one of the only decks that is combo/control/aggro in the same deck.

Playing 3 or more creatures with haste a turn is also fun.

Faerie stompy.

I have FS, Gob, 43 lands, and Shahrazad decks irl. I have the basis to build most other Legacy decks, but FS is the deck that won me the most tournaments, brought me to 1800 points in 10 months (had to get new DCI number so had to start from scratch), and I really love it.

The fact that everything in my deck is in Chinese or Beta also help....

Survival. Versalitiy is cool - nuff said. Right now I'm playing nothing but building Gbw Survival. A few days ago I bought a FBB signed Savannah for 40 bucks :)
I really like Faerie/Dragon Stompy. Smashing your opponents face on turn two with a 6/5 flying Sea Drake, kill your opponent in one turn with a hellbent Pit Dragon or screwing your opponent with Moon-Effects out of the game is really funny.

Anything that gets to see a lot of cards early - you may call them high-velocity decks, if you're a pompous ass. That means aggro-control and control decks with Brainstorm, cycling, or Sensei's Divining Top, or tutor-based decks. Playing any of these makes me feel good about myself.

In terms of sheer adrenaline, though, I still have to find anything that beats Demon Stompy. You empty your hand on turn 1, your opponent can't resolve anything until turn 5, and he's staring down a four-turn clock. Good times.

Deadguy Ale, largely only because I have 4 Beta Scrublands...Otherwise it would be any black deck with Confidant and Tombstalker and probably Shade.

At the moment it's UWb-Landstill, which is my very first Legacy.dec. I like Wishes, especially Cunning-ones. The other deck I like is Rabid Wombat (or something like that, MWC would be the correct name).

IcBE Goyf Control.

It's the best deck I've designed ever. I love the way it functions in different matchups and the different roles it can play.

I also have a weak spot for Terrageddon, but Goyf Control will be my deck of choise for at least some time.

@Bovinous: yeah, the ban of Shahrazad was harsh. It's always been one of my favorite card. It took me some time to collect 4 that were signed by Kaja Foglio, and I still don't really get "why" they banned it.

Few people had it, nobody would ever pay to attend a tournament, especially a big one (which was part of their justification I believe) with this. Because, you don't win with draws... I will admit I played some 1 hour g1s, and it is probably the best card (right before Jester's Scepter) to collect quitters on MWS... But I was hardly winning 50% of my matches.

Looking at Kaja's artwork, I can't stop thinking between the "weird" smile, the smocking material, the coussins, even the real Shahrazad story from the Arabian Nights (the book of course), the "chat all night long in this atmosphear stuff", that the woman is "stoned". Maybe it's only me, and the fact I myself played it stoned a lot of time, but it is the only card that made me wonder this. That alone was another reason (for me) to keep it in the format...

I have a Rw Shahrazad Burn deck that was fun (as fun as a "Burn" deck can be), and a 5 color "Shahrazad The Unthinkable" deck, that was trying to win from Shahrazads, burning Wishes/Regrowth to take them back, and Glimpse the Unthinkables/Crypts. The mana base was tough, because running fetches with Shahrazad is not a combo. But it was so fun to play. And of course, the Enter the Dungeon/Shahrazad deck eveybody thought of.

I still keep the decks for casual, but I regret this (unfair) decision...

Any/all that allows me the highest chance of winning the game. I don't play all that much anymore, so I'd better maximize the EV I get out of it.

It's not competitive but its funny to watch people get pissed when i take a 30 minute turn before they scoop. Hard Boiled Awesome Sauce (http://forums.gleemax.com/showthread.php?t=551329). Competitivewise I'd say Landstill/Tog/ Heavy Control Decks.

Of all time, Groatog back in 2003. Old school control Survival with infinite bullets was also pretty cool.

These days, dunno. Survival and most aggro control and control decks qualify, usually blue based.

Couldn't agree with you more, I had a soft spot for the card ever since I found out it existed and I'd really love to be still able to design weird decks built to abuse it.

And it is not fun to play. At least after the novelty wears off. Comboing off with Eggs is one of the most painful things I have ever had the misfortune of doing. I have no idea how my brother played it through a 5 round Legacy tournament.

I voted for TES, but I have some more.

Rabid Wombat (my Wombat Brew Wgb)
Solidarity (just picked this up. So much fun!)
Landstill UWg (don't have all the cards for it, but I have been playing with it and it has been really fun)

I love to play control because they are difficult to play and are interactive. I like combo because it is difficult to play and owning friends turn one or easily beating them down turn 4 with blue is fun.

12-13-2007, 03:50 AM
Spring Tide. I don't have the Resets required to play Solidarity nor the duals required to play anything else. That being said, I still think it's a very cool deck. As a nice bonus, it's great fun to goldfish.

Landstill (of the BHWC variety mostly, but I still love UW straight old lists), followed closely by Survival (of the Rec-Sur variety-those Recurring shenanigans are some good fun indeed) and Dragon Stompy/Faerie Stompy.
Enchatress is pretty awesome to goldfish, though.

Besides, I really really love to play with Life from the Loam decks, except I can't get a list that satisfies me in the lines of the extended Aggro Loam. Terravore suffers all the Tarmogoyf hate, it's so sad.

My favorite decks to play are the following:

1.) Vial Affinity
2.) Vial Goblins
3.) Solidarity (When it was actually viable)

I'm a big believer in the Raw Power of Affinity, but as you all know its very easy to hate out. I'm grateful that a lot of players don't think about this deck too much which is why I only play it in big events where it does put up the numbers.
