My wife got me a box of Lorwyn and I just got done opening all the packs.
Out of all the cards, the only things I will end up keeping are:
Thoughtseize
Gaddock Teeg
Hoofprints of the Stag
and a hand full of Kithkins
Got quite a few high dollar rares for trade that I will take the next time I go play Legacy, since always a few standard players hanging around.
How about the rest of you...did you get get MTG related gifts for Christmas?

Your parents should have bought your team a set of tarmogoyfs. But I doubt there are anymore of those around or being exchanged for gifts.
no MTG related gifts here, makes me a sad panda. The iPod stereo was kind of nice but wasn't that needed seeing as I had stolen my Mom's and was using that one. Didn't seem so much as a gift as more of a subtle 'give me my fucking stereo back'. =\
Merry Christmas everyone, bee tee dubz

I got a new SNES. I win.
You mean factory-sealed-CIB new, or just something-I-didnt-have new? The first one is impressive, the other is rather meh (but still nice).
Got $50 to a game store, so I might spend it on a box of FS to draft with friends. Wackily fun format to draft (LOL FIVE SPROUT SWARM), and all those money rares = win.
Got Encyclopedia nr 3 & 4 and a book about Portal (always like to get books and stuff about magic), a new binder and 5 boosters (2x Lorwyn, 3x Future Sight).
I was a lot happier with FF:VII Dirge of Ceberus, God of War II, megaman 2 (NES, I love that game), and Fighter's Destiny (N64, best beat 'm up ever!).
The big price will come at my birthday (01-26), when I'll recieve a Tabernacle!

I got a new SNES. I win.I still have my SNES that I got new in like 1994, and play it often (though it's starting to go downhill... By next Christmas I'll probably have to get a new one, too.). In fact, my friend, my brother and I have made it our goal to play through Secret of Mana while everyone is home for break.
Hmm... Talking about SNES has gotten me riled up. I think I'll go speed-run Super Metroid. Wish me luck.
I think I'll go speed-run Super Metroid. Wish me luck.
If by speed run you mean beat it in under 3 hours for the super samus swimsuit centerfold ending, then it's not that hard.
If you mean super speed run it to try and beat it in like 90 minutes or something like that, then good luck.

I got socks. Old = teh anti-rockxor.
(However, my kids got enough crap to choke five horses. I spent my morning assembling Lego cars and a hovercraft. And my daughter won't feed Baby Alive since she doesn't want to change its diaper).

I too got socks. And other clothes. On the plus side, they are super comfy.
My brother got an iPod. And stuff for his Wii. Oh well. I make it out to be worse than it is, though, because I have a job (and oodles of gift cards and such) so I can just buy whatever I want. Not today, though.
No MTG Gifts, though. Which is good, because I doubt any of my relatives know enough about the game to get me what I need/want anyway.

Im rather impressed, given that the record is 00:32. Im awful at speedruns (I cant mockball to save my life), so I just screw around in-game a lot instead of actually speedrunning.
Almost wish I had my SNES, but my brother brought down Rock Band (360), so that makes up for not having my SNES collection down here. Poor Super Metroid, Final Fantasy 4, and Shaq-Fu have to wait another month to see daylight.

WOW, I wrapped all my wifes gifts on magic booster boxes and starter deck boxes... She for me a Beta Berserk and a box of Korean 4th Edition. I'll open it later with friends...
I still play my SNES once or twice a week... Super Techmo Bowl... Playing Seasons with my friend since it came out!

God, why didn't I think of that before? Bardo, you have plans tomorrow?
Seriously though, skip the Space Needle if you can help it. Not as exciting as you think. I'd hit all the shops in Pike Place (there's a comic shop down there that still sells Alliances boosters - I opened Force once). There's just a lot of cool shit down there.
Also, I don't know what the schedule is for the Pacific Science Center, but I still think it's worth checking out (go see a laser show, maybe).
You could also hit the U District and see how many Bubble Tea places you can count in 5 blocks or less. My record is 47.
Or you could just hit up First Pick (which I should be doing in the next week or so).
Mostly just hit Pike Place before you go. It rocks. Maybe catch a fish.
edit - Ooh! And get pictures of yourself violating the nutcrackers. It's what all the tourists are doing these days.
edit2 - And don't ride the Duck. For the love of God, don't ride the duck. You don't want to be that guy.

The amount of money you spend on a fake guitar and a game, you can get the real thing. Then you can learn how to play it and play your own music.
It's just that simple people.

You're kidding right? Do you realize how many combinations exist with 5 buttons? Not as many as exist with 5 STRINGS. Guitar Hero is exponentially easier than ACTUAL guitar, and you don't have to memorize shit. When the correct notes come at you, it sounds right. You don't have to worry about EXACT FUCKING PLACEMENT. For fuck's sake, I hate it when people say this. Also, great guitar at 70 bucks. Yeah, real fucking quality there. Oh, and lessons too. Yeah, good call.
P.S. I'm not angry at you, I'm angry at that sentiment. Don't take it personally.

Agreed. GHIII is wins. I also got it for Christmas. Anyone want to play on Live? I'm awful and out of practice, but I like losing? :(
Also, organizing a Source bowling tournament sounds like a very good idea. I used to drag my parents on Sunday morning to league when I was like 4-10.
SNES is by far my favorite system ever, and I collect video games, so that's saying a lot. NHL 94 is the best sports game ever created.

I realize that a real guitar costs a lot more with additional costs included in lessons. I was simply having a little fun making fun of the game. I'm a big fan of music, but I can't get into that game whats so ever.

Don't feel bad. GH3 is essentially GH2 with new songs and a couple bells and whistles. GH2 is at least as good IMO, and honestly I'd reccomend beating GH2 before you start on GH3 anyway.
And Gearhart, thank you. The amount of effort I have to put into mastering GH3 is nigh infy smaller than what it would take to play a real guitar. Now, being able to play a real guitar is cooler, sure, but it's not like I bought GHIII so I could impress chicks or get famous or whatever.
I think this (http://www.xkcd.com/359/) sums it up nicely.

Quick note, of the people who have GH3, how many of you have beaten the game on Expert? I've beaten Easy, Medium, and Hard, but am stuck on Lou. I know there's a glitch to beat him, but I'm not going to do that.
Second question. Who here has beaten Through the Fire and Flames on Expert? I'm really close but Herman's Solo + Sam's Solo = fucking Exhaustion.
Good times Nick. Everything remains cool. Always good to hear.

That too. I've been playing guitar for around 10 years, and I think it's funny when people get all riled up about the game and say that they are 'nasty cause they can play the intro to Crazy On You on hard', but I can stand back and take it for what it is...just a game.
At least DDR gets people to shed the pounds.

Nick - Considering that I have a real guitar, and can play it, I'm fine with replicating it in video game form. Also, it gets me using the 360 I otherwise wasn't using.

I still feel left out. For Hanukkah I enjoyed several heaping portions of Jack Daniel's #7 with canned (only way to drink Jack) Coke. My brother forgot that Hanukkah happened, my sister got me several Dr. Seuss titles in Spanish (my favorite among them, Oh, Cuán Lejos Llegarás), and my mother supplied both a copy of GH:III for my Wii and The Alphabet of Manliness. With the mad Hanukkah Geld my grandparents dropped on me I payed the entry to a local Pesant Extended tournament, pwnd face, and picked up a Japanese Foil Lilliana Vess that I sold back to the store for $50.

Nothing Magic related here but that is good because I only really like buying singles I want and hate opening packs.
Ended up getting GHIII for the 360 (pm me for my tag if you wanna play on live, though I can really only play good on medium), mass effect, nba 2k8, disgaea 2, and Stargate the Movie. You gotta go to Oswego, hoss. Turns out that it was on behalf of the owner's son. It was a spectacular deal for me, though.
Recent attempts to re-live my glory have ended in terrible-ness. I bought like half a box of Russian Lorwyn from the comic shop where the 'Cuse locals are held. I got the foil rare, but it was a terrible Biron Stoutarm. I'm sending it in as prize support for the CANGD:III competition. Spanish Lorwyn isn't that awesome either, too. Just the crappy planeswalkers and a fathom trawler. Or Judge of Currents. Y'know, that guy who, when tapped, cou can pay :1::u: to boomerang something.
